Dr. Clancy is my favourite professor at StFX. He is absolutely brilliant and is very helpful outside of class. I've taken several classes from him, including PSCI 100. As noted by other commenters, he is very dry and the classes can be boring. If you participate in class and ask him to expand on topics he is interested in, his classes are great.

Dr. Clancy is not the most exciting lecturer at StFX, but is passionate about what he is teaching, and cares about his students. I would strongly recommend taking his third-year class on Law & Politics. I learned more in the simulation than in any other course all-year, and really enjoyed myself in the process.

Peter is a great prof and a very fair marker. He's always there for his students if you have any questions or concerns. Class lectures can be boring as are the assigned readings, but it is a mandatory class. The assigned readings are very important! Is an all around great guy!

Clancy is a really nice guy, but he is sooo boring to listen to. The material he teaches is very dry so that definitely doesn't help either! I honestly wouldn't recommend him because it's very hard to pay attention!

He is personally a nice man, but a BORING professor, and since he occasionally teaches a mandatory intro class, you have to take it. I also know from a friend that other sections of INTRO TO POLI SCIE are also not that interesting. Oh, well, you have to go through it, I guess.

Nice guy and knows his stuff. Unfortunately he is very quiet and unexciting and many people sleep through his lectures if they even show up.. Generous marker on term papers, you have to show up to class to get his slides as he doesnt post them.

I would not recommend Clancy but he is unavoidable if you major in polisci. Clancy is knowledgeable but boring, a very quiet person to the degree that he has no personality in class. If you are super-interested in what he says, then he is OK, but this prof is not the one who would excite you. On top, he may be an unfair marker.

Peter was a great professor for the PSCI 240 Business & Government class. He was extremely articulate bringing business and government together and how they work with one another. He may be a bit dull sometimes but make sure to pay attention to his lectures because your lecture notes is your only study guide for his tests.

Very boring classes, however not bad when he talks about current events. With papers and exams, prefers quantity over quality, will give marks just for long papers. Unclear and overall I would not suggested him as a professor. Seemed like a nice enough guy, though.

Lectures are somewhat dry when he sticks to the curriculum. However he often deviates to speak on current political events etc. which makes for an incredibly interesting discussion between an incredibly intelligent man and the students who have the intellect to engage him. Fairly easy marker. Only problem ( a very MAJOR one) is that you take DOSSA!
