Glanz can be either be a good teacher or a bad teacher. It depends on how you learn. If you can sit and read the book and teach yourself most of the material and then apply it in class then you will be fine in this class. If not... GET OUT. He uses homework, readings, and labs for questions on the quizzes and exams.

Professor glanz should not be teaching physics . He is the worst professor I've ever had. If you have question in class he answers you by making you look like an idiot in front of everyone. I never felt comfortable to raise my hand ever again. The quizzes & exams are awful DOES NOT LECTURE!! Get ready to teach yourself. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

Do the pre-work so you can discuss the topic intelligently, he'll know if you didn't. He will exert as much effort to help you as you did preparing for the class-show some enthusiasm! No Murmuring "I don't get it". Ask for help offering possible reasons/sol for failed experiments; do the prep for class and his explanations will make perfect sense.

Awful Professor! I asked for help three times in one day & he stated that, if I didn't know the material, I didn't belong in the class. I attended every lecture/lab (well, two weeks worth until I dropped). He's not helpful & not clear on a lot of material. Very confusing! Don't take him!

I studied hard and did all the homework. He is a great person but terrible teacher when it comes to explaining concepts to beginners. If you are not a science person don't think its an easy class. Intro to astronomy has been the hardest I've ever taken. ABsolutely difficult, I learned so much and wouldn't change it for anything, but SOOO HARD!

Dr. Glanz will help you if you need it. Although he does not e-mail questions back right away, he will get back to you at some point. The online text was very annoying along with the lab books. Otherwise, if you do the homework and practice problems, you should do well.

The worst teacher ever. If you are an education major, he will just bring you down. His tests are sooo hard and he expects you to get things the first time he goes over them. I took him in the summer and got a B, but it was not easy. I can't even imagine taking him during a regular semester.About 5 people in my class had taken it multiple times

This guy gets such a bad rep. He was excited to hear that I was in the edu. dept. and he is a great teacher. O.k. so his tests are hard, but you have to study. You MUST go for extra help, if he knows that you are interested in the subject then he will help you.

He came across as a nice guy, watch out he does not like education dept students. His tests were some of the hardest I have ever taken. Take another teacher. If you need to take this class as I had to, study the book. His tests do not reflect all his lecture time. Not fair in a hard class like this. And do all the extra credit. Good luck.
