Dr. Krats is extremely fair. A kind-hearted prof that genuinely cares about his students. Actually reads the papers you submit. Will respond to emails quickly and easily accessible in office hours. Gives good feedback and is always willing to help. Enjoys his job and makes History more interesting.

Comment:
Never has a professor shown such disregard to students' learning as Krats. He uses messy lecture slides/disorganized notes, and suggests no additional learning material (i.e.: readings). The exam (re-used from two years prior evident in the date) was minimally related to course material at best. Seriously - a very ineffective and harsh teacher.

Lectures are interesting. Do NOT take 2124 to boost your mark. Hard essay grader. Was hoping to get above an 80 but did not. Worked really hard on essays and started days before.

Should be given a medal for making Canadian history interesting. He has a way of bringing in a lot of relatable facts into the class that are obviously not in the required reading. Participate knowing that he will cut you off and finish your sentence with a story of his own. If you want feedback on anything, he'll provide *constructive* criticism.

His lectures were boarder line perfect, everything was well explained and as interesting as it could be considering the subject matter. I really enjoyed that. But his marking and attention to student was terrible. I felt alienated in the course, and when I approached him for help he said "Students write the paper Teachers Grade it"-zero help ever.

Very good prof. Very approachable and a nice guy, always has something interesting things to talk about during class. He also doesn't really pull any hairs when marking and is pretty quick considering he didnt have a ta. I would recommend a course with him.

Krats is the man! Loved his course, and he liked to mention how he used to work in the back alleys of masonville.. still wondering what the hell that meant. Another time he said 'i have 2 kids, one of them not my fault'. He is a walking mystery, but a great prof

If I wanted to do a critical book review I would have taken an English or critical writting class. If you have any dissccusion in your review you will end up with a lower mark. The assignment relates on how well the selected book was written not on how well you reflect upon it

Great Professor, relatively easy course. Evaluation consists of 1 book review, 1 exam and freebie participation. The textbooks are never even referred to in class and everything he tests is essentially in the online notes. Don't even bother buying the textbook! Krats is an interesting lecturer as well. Overall, a highly recommended course and prof.

Great lecturer. Very entertaining and funny. I loved his class. He is a good man and will re read your paper if one of those TAs tried to screw you. I very much enjoyed his class. Highly recommended.

This sort of process...you'll hear that about ten thousand times. Other than that, he's gold. Great lectures, funny guy even though when he laughs he ACTUALLY sounds like he's choking. great class although the book selection sucked for the paper.

Seriously a great professor! I needed an elective and picked history since I somewhat enjoy it, so I looked up profs here and took Kratz's class. He is entertaining, helpful and has well structured classes. As long as you go to class and do the work, you are great. And he is super helpful in studying for the final exam, attend the help session.

I love Krats!! He was wicked. And he's super entertaining.. everytime he laughs at one of his stupid jokes it sounds like he's about to die, but that totally kept me entertained in class. You don't need to do any of the readings as long as you go to class, and he's pretty leniant with reviewing marks after he has given them. Great class, take it!

Some of my highest grades in university. You do not need to purchase nor read the textbook. Go to lectures and you will get an A. Lenient with deadlines and extensions. An excellent learning experience both times. TAKE THESE COURSES.

Honestly, this professor is a good lecturer and explains the subject well. Final marks are way too dependent on participation, which should be expected in small tutorials and high school, not university. Your life may be dedicated to history Krats, but mine isn't.
