Comment:
Spends too much time doing theory and not enough examples. Homework and quizzes are always a week ahead so nothing you learn in class can help you. The other sections get ten questions per week from the book while we only get one he made up but the numbers are based on your student ID and he over-complicates it with his obsession of Greek letters.

You're better off learning from another professor. He does not prepare you for the test, nor does he answer emails. I just learned through the textbook after a while because his lectures were pointless to go to.

He's a cute old man who is funny without trying to be however he is not helpful at all! The tests are decent but class is very confusing! If you ask a question he'll go around the topic and never ends up answering your question. I basically taught myself the course.

He actually makes the topic more confusing than it needs to be. For example, in the course, B represents a basis. He'll change the variables day-to-day to random greek letters so your notes wont be consistent when you look back at them. Spends all class showing proofs that are not needed in the tests whatsoever. Learned the whole course from text.

Good prof knows his stuff. Just puts way to much emphasis on the stuff that he thinks is a better way. Usually will lose tons of marks for it. If you want to learn new stuff hes good if you want high memorized grades youre screwed

Dr. Lawrence definitely knows his stuff. That being said, his notes are very unorganized when he writes on a blackboard, and sometimes hard to follow. Overall his evaluations are easy.

Does stuff that we've never learned in previous classes and then gets angry when students don't understand. 90% of this class was him doing proofs that we didn't need to know for the course. The good thing is he had pretty simple tests.

Yes he is a great mathematician but that doesn't mean he is a great professor. Very difficult to follow along to his lectures. He jumps from one topic to another. His assignments are rather difficult. If you aren't required to take this course I wouldn't.

Can be a bit of a richard but usually is cool. Knows mathematics extremely well but can't explain or teach it. Fair tests, extremely easy going, very pleasing to listen to, his notes give you everything you need to get an A. I think he is a great guy and a quality mathematician.

Aside from his appearance, he can be a reasonable guy, you do get the best grade possible, as he knows its a tough course, he does try to get it across, but he cant explain it in any other way other than proofs, in a sense, he gives you proofs, you give him examples, study study study for the tests, read all the material he gives. cheat sheets ok:)

Nice guy who understands math, but not great at explaining it. He usually writes a bunch of notes & expects you to understand them from Gr. 12 math, but his assignments are difficult. The text is of no use & his marking scheme is laid out so you get the best mark possible. You get cheat sheets for exam/test. He is an okay teacher & easy material.

Cannot teach. Disorganized and is never at his office during office hours. The textbook assigned is useless as well as it is all profs and does not instruct.

Really nice guy,he is willing to give extra help. Unfortunatley he cannot teach. If math is not your strong suit then your definatley in trouble. The majority of my class failed. You are allowed a crib sheet, but it's useless when you don't understand the material. Definatley save your notes from highschool- they'll be more usefull than his notes.

Great professor. EXTREMELY knowledgeable and helpful. Sure his lectures were confusing sometimes, okay most of the time, but you get everything at the end. No textbook. Cribsheet for tests and exam.

Very disorganized which is not very helpful to a complex course like Calc III. That is probably the only negative (yet strongly negative) thing I can say. His appearance is quite awkward, sometimes came to class with pants unbuttoned. Cribsheets for all tests are allowed, sometimes not needed though.
