Comment:
A funny and humorous guy but his explanations are unclear and the in class quizzes were difficult. His office hours are better than his lectures, so put that into consideration. Otherwise, rely on the textbook or attend another chem lecture.

His lectures were not related to the material on the exams, leaving me feeling ill-prepared for the final. The notes he makes in class don't make any sense when you look back on them. If you're good at chemistry already, you'll be fine. But if you don't have a strong background in chemistry before entering this class, good luck.

Didn't feel like he cared about the class at all and he winged a lot of his lectures so the notes were messy and confusing. Only good thing was no-iclickers so I could stay home and read the Chirp. Also, he lets you skim over quizzes before writing them, but often gives tricky Q's. Not a bad guy, but his office hours are more useful to go to.

Ledzdins was probably my favourite prof of the semester. His quizzes are tricky but are easy/doable if you study. Main advice is to attend the lecture and actually pay attention, even if you didn't do the pre-readings, he is able to teach the material with great detail so that you know what's going on.

You would think he does not care about you but if you actually take time to go for office hours, you see a different side! He is very approachable and helpful! Just make sure you read the textbook before classes and feel free to ask questions!

Probably not good if you don't like reading the textbook before class, but he definitely knows his stuff and is able to explain the applications of the material very well. Exams are fair. Would recommend.

My favourite prof ever, made morning classes worth it. The content is manageable if you stay on top of it and Legzdins is a legend. Be prepared to laugh! Don't take this class if you can't take a joke.

It's true that his notes are sometimes lacking but he makes up for it in office hours. I found that it was often better to not write down every little detail but just listen instead. A great prof! Boogadaboogada

Funny guy, midterms were mostly fair, a bit harsh on the marking at times but mostly fair. Final was significantly harder but not impossible. Notes are unclear at times but it's made obvious what you need to learn. Some people criticize his teaching methods but it did a good job of having me actively pay attention. boogadaboogada

Ya, so I got a bad mark in 309/310. It isn't a cake walk. That doesn't mean I think he is a bad prof. His notes are extrememly lacking, I suggest recording the lectures. But if you need help, he will go above and beyond to help you. And that is why he is a GREAT prof!

I had him for both 309/310 and the outcome was my decision to change my major from chem! I will never take another chem course after his classes! Terrible notes, impossible to study off from and the course material is so dry and uninteresting, to the point of questioning my decision in studying chem... Very unclear lectures and terrible notes..

Terrible notes to say the least... actually, I wouldnt consider them notes because they are just scribbles of words, which are over generalized, all over the place... pretty much no need to go to class cause u will end up reading the textbook instead...

Legzdins is a good man. He expects a lot from the class but he is upfront about it and wont bs you. I enjoyed the classroom atmosphere and how we (the class) got to know each other on a personal level by the end of the year. If you happen to be reading this, thanks for the passing grade

I took 310 and 309 with Dr.Legzdins. He is am amazing prof!! I disagree with all the negative comments! He is very very helpful, and funny. His notes are great, a lot of useful information in there. Reading the text would definitely help though. Easy to ace course if you review all previous questions and exams.

His notes are pretty vague, but if you pay attention to what he SAYS and write THAT down, your notes will be awesome! His exams are pretty straight forward(the finals were SUPER EASY)you just have to ACTUALLY know/understand the concepts(NOT memorize)! Main reason why ppl hate him is b/c he doesn't hold your hand. This isn't high school..

Notes are full of chicken straches and those balderdash. Oh what the hay, he's as stubborn as noble gases. "It's true, you think I make this stuff up." You can tell he's passionate about the subject though. DO read the text and ask him often and you'll do just fine... he said, optimistically.
