Comment:

I took multiple courses with Prof Macdonald and although it took a full semester to get used to his teaching style I appreciated it for my next courses with him. He is thorough, approachable, interested in the material, and always willing to let students redo assignments, he wants to see everyone succeed. I would definitely take his courses again.

This course shouldn't be too hard but Peter makes it challenging. Spends too much time talking about irrelevant topics, spends months teaching "R" and then doesn't test it on the final. This feels like one of those courses where the profs made old and not going to change his way, and you just have to hope he'll retire before you make it there!

His classes are not easy, however it's extremely unfair to say that Dr Macdonald is a bad prof because whenever you need help, he's always there for you and very approachable! He geniusly cares about every of his students. I don't know what else you could expect from a prof?!

I dont know about other courses but for this course Dr. MacDonald is great. He is so easy. His Assignments are a breeze and I hope the tests will be easy as well. Great prof. Very Personable and Kind teacher.

Completely deviates from required course content in order to plug the software "R". Uses old syllabus and assignments from completely different courses because he is too lazy to teach new content tailored to each course. Very unhelpful. Notes are terrible. Assignments and tests are ridiculous. Shouldn't be allowed to teach or run a course again.

This prof is very tough! I feel sorry for the stats 3Y03 students because that course was very easy till few years back, but he's teaching it next year and he's going to torture them with R language and his brutal exams. Very sad that this prof is still around. I give him 3 for helpfulness because he does answer all emails promptly!

He is a great guy but he expects way too much from undergrad students. He was soo much harder then Dr.Feng. Unless you are really up for a challenge I dont recommend anybody to take his class. R Assignments sucked big time. Otherwise a good prof.
