Peter's teaching method is terrible. He speaks down to his student and his writing is incredibly illegible. For someone who takes marks off based on organization, he is himself the most unorganized teacher I have had. I always wanted to be an engineer since I was 5 just like my parents, but Peter managed to ruined that dream.

Great guy and knows his stuff, but this course is a tough one with him. Make sure you never miss a class and always get assignments started asap! Also write down the random details that he mentions one time in the year and says will be on the final exam.

The class was pretty easy going. As long as you show up, take notes and pay attention (Should if you're interested in Engineering) will have no problems. Peter has strict criteria in write ups but as long as you stick to it, shouldn't be a problem. Like the idea of the time logs

Peter is an all around great professor. He really instills the mindset of what it means to be an engineer. Though it is a painful lesson to learn, and his marking is hard, I know I will look back on this course as being beneficial in training me for professionalism in my career. Course notes were confusing, but he ensures everyone understands all!

First month, his marking with destroy you. He lets up towards the end, but expect a hard first month. If you work your ass off, you'll do well, but if you don't put in a lot of effort, you're not going to have a fun time.

Peter is an excellent instructor, he goes out of his way to make sure you understand. As long as you're willing to ask questions he is there to help. Some of the assignments are very long but the course is relevant to real life. Peter is a rough marker, but if you work hard and apply his feedback you will do fine.

Peter is by far the best instructor I have had this far. He is very clear in lecture and is very helpful outside of class on a one on one basis. The hardest marker I have had but for good reason. Easy way to gain marks is do your homework EXACTLY as he asks. He is passionate about his work and it shows. Awesome instructor and person.

Definitely hard, but reasonable. Anyway, if you want to study engineering, you have to pass his courses. I really learned a lot in his classes. I'm gonna rate him 4 out of 5, just because sometimes he is vague to the materials and you have to study yourself.

If you get Peter, he is an absolute gem and a beautiful man. I would take his class again, in a heartbeat. He made my year. He's a hard-as-nails marker, but more than makes up with class content. He's got brilliant insight, scrupulous honesty, and a wicked undercover sense of humour.

Yes the material is hard, but Mulhern himself is hard. The whole point of this class is to act as a sort of survey of the engineering discipline and to start building good engineering habits. Engineers need to do perfect work, so of course he is going to be a strict marker. The final grades are scaled, so don't sweat not finishing every in-class.

Fun class. Field trips and guest speakers. For the log book of speakers and trips, remember to put in his talk the first day of class. He didn't tell us we needed to, and I'm sure he enjoyed the groans as everyone got their logs back! Honestly, the other comments about him on here are true, he is kind of an ass. He seems to be intelligent though.

He is totally yelling or mid-fingering during the class,but really tough marker.Each end of the class has inclass assignment which IMPOSSIBLE to finishing. Cold jokes makes u tired. He is a very interesting teacher. He is extremely hard to ace with, and I think his intentions are to smash you into the ground so that you actually try really hard to get anywhere. It may seem like you are getting nowhere, but just keep trying. He is really good at letting you experience the 'real world'. Mulhern = Challenge.
