Hard A** instructor. Pass his courses and you WILL know the material. Also VERY helpfull for students who WANT the help. If you don't want to work hard why are you in ME classes. Dr. "O" will do anything to help his students have a better experience. The ONLY instructor who I still stay in touch with 10 years after Graduation.

This guy is great for when you need help, he has no problem showing you how YOU can learn what to do. He won't just show you, in fact if he did you probably wouldn't understand him, but he'll show you where you can find the info that you need.

He is a very good professor and very knowledgeable about partial differential equations/mechanical engineering. Dr. Othmer helped me understand the material throughout the semester. I would take a class with him again.

Dr. Othmer likes to teach and likes to see his students learn. He gives helpful handouts. He stays with students after class & he always makes time for his students. He is very understanding that every student has different needs & he always explains things to his students. He loves to see students do their homework & rewards his students for it.

Wasn't very clear on the due dates of the assignments let alone what needs to be turned in. He just throws everything he wants done at you in large quantities. But he's flexible on when you can turn in stuff. There's plenty of extra credit available so if youre not good at tests jump on the extra credit.

thermo is just hard no matter where you take it. instructor went way overboard but got the job done and the exams very fair.I learned more in his class than all my physics classes combined because it ws so hard. Every class after this is easy, so its good training and worth the B.S. Class can be way unfocused. Get him to post hw sol.

luckily i know all the material for the course, so teaching myself and my freinds is no problem....but i do think that he is not a teacher, but more of living proof that you must be energetic at all costs.....this guy has balls to show up everyday and has the same amount of heart everytime... if anyone needs help just come talk to me

He seemed like a cool teacher but lack any knowledge of the material, I think it was his first time teaching this class! He had to learn autocad along with us... Though over all it was sort of a kick back class just do the assignments and its an easy A

Othmer is very knowlegeable, but can't teach! Fast paced lectures will consist of unreadable photocopied and hand written transparencies. To pass, learn the material from other text books (course book he chooses is unclear and incomplete). Expect very little from his lectures. Avoid him if you can!

must have for ME major. otherwise avoid. hardest classes ive ever taken, also the most rewarding. ive never met anyone this excited about the material. answers questions about anything, AND has a personal story about it, he REALLY KNOWS his stuff. buy the book before it starts and DONT FALL BEHIND.
