Take this class as an easy option if you have the right resources. At times, it can be hard to make out what Peter is saying. He is very passionate about geography but the lectures themselves can be boring. Only thing that matters are the tests.

If you show up to class and write everything that he says (all the side notes) you should have no problem. His notes are helpful but his lectures are more useful. He is very specific on exams asks the tiniest detail. For practice go to oneclass site. Also he bumps your grade if you come to class everyday.

His tests are actually ridiculous, he said in class a chart was not going to be on the test but it was. If you study a lot and read the textbook and constantly look at maps, you may get by. Lectures are mandatory! Try not to speak out in the class.

Cool guy, knows his stuff. Mumbles quite a bit and has a pretty distinct accent. Interesting course, tests are fairly straight forward. Took this class thinking it was going to be an 'easy a'... Not quite.

Please DO NOT take this class. More than half of the people dropped this course before finals. His lectures are unclear and boring. He can be at times though. Exams are very unpredictable. I had to drop this course and suffered a lot for it with my student loans. He destroyed my interest for Geography. :(

This guy has so much knowledge about the world. I enjoyed listening about his travels and it has inspired me to plan trips of my own. His exams are very straightforward and he is a fair grader as well. Great prof.

Dr Slezak is a very passionate, enthusiastic instructor. I quite enjoyed his class, and he explained the content very well. His accent took maybe a lecture to get use to, but after everything was fairly clear. His PDF notes are very explanatory, and will be tested on rigourously.

Peter Slezak is a pretty good professor in my opinion, Read the texbook, his first midterm will throw a lot of people off, so I suggest you go to his pre-exam sessions, he explains a lot. You just need to read, because there is a lot of content , and you don't want to get the facts mixed up.

Peter Slezak is an all round good professor. He is willing to help you out alot and with a little engagement you will succeed in his class. He is also extremely knowledgeable about world affairs and geography, and just picking his brain on the subject matter is rewarding. His voice is a little unclear but you get used to it pretty early.

Dr. Slezak is a very enthusiastic professor! However, his exams were extremely difficult. You really have to come to class and write everything he says. He never discussed content from textbooks in lectures, but you need to study them. His section was very interesting but the he tests you on really specific things. NOT REALLY A GPA BOOSTER

This is by far the toughest course taken this semester, for an intro geography course, the tests are quite difficult. Your only hope is to write down everything he says and memorize all the slides, even then some of the questions from the midterm are very random and specific. Even though the course material is interesting, the test ruin it.

This is by far the worst professor I have ever had! I could not understand a word he said! He would gallop through lectures never pausing to look up if someone had a question and would jump from topic to topic not making clear what was course material or personal anecdotes... Memorize seemingly inconsequential details in the text book!

Peter Slezak, the name that you don't want to see on your timetable. Not a bad guy necessarily but he talks like he has a whole bag of marbles in his mouth. His lectures are incredibly boring and his tests are like 50% textbook which he doesn't go over. Avoid if you can. if you take 205 you will have him sadly.

Tells you that only 10% of the test is on the textbook, but ended up putting 95% in there.

Unclear instructions, tested on material that seems unrelated. I'm about a B+ 4rth year student and I got a 66% on his portion of the course. I studied a good amount but the things that he tested on where more trivia questions than concept material which was very different from the other professors and not what I am used to.

Dr. Sleezy completely contradicts Dr. Yackel's preaching that geography is not "a category of trivia pursuit". Be prepared to be tested on the most ambiguous materiel and not be told that this will be the case. I can't believe ppl on here rip on Yackel and like this clown. Also I'm not saying this cause I'm not doing well, he's just a bad prof.
