Comment:
Petr is very hard to understand unless you sit in the first four rows. He has a great connection with the students and is always willing to help. He likes to make random jokes and will tell you what is going to be on the test when nobody is paying attention very easy to get distracted if you pay attention and ask for help you will do fine though!

DO NOT TAKE!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! awful teacher, super thick accent. all he does is ramble you can barley understand a thing 20% of the test questions come from individual statements he made in class once that have nothing to do with chemistry (fortunately if you go to class these trivia questions are in your favor) study guides are a joke.

I loved chemistry until I had this class. He ruined my favorite subject for me so much that i switched my major. He is heavily accented so you cannot understand him at all and he is so arrogant that whatever you ask him he scoffs at. my advice: avoid him at all costs.

The worst excuse of a teacher. Does not know how to lecture, hard to understand, belittling, exams are on trivial statements he made once. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Absolutely HORRIBLE "teacher." His accent is so thick you can't understand a thing he says. All he does is ramble and ramble through the whole class and god forbid you have a question because he will belittle you. I had a 4.1 GPA and he completely ruined it. AVOID THIS VANYSEK AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Rambles on for the whole entire period and does not really explain the problems he does on the board. Working with the TA is a good way to get a better understanding on the subject. If it was not for the curve I would have failed. Also, you only get graded on 4 test one of which is the final.

HE IS HORRIBLE! You cannot understand half of what he says, he is so mean and rude to everyone. HIs tests are insanely hard and he does not explain anything! I loved Chemistry before I took him, he made me feel so stupid i had to wonder if i deserve to even be in college.

His tests are ridiculous, and this is coming from a 4.0 EE student. When my differential equations and electromagnetism finals are a breeze compared to his final, there's a problem. His tests are 50% testing you on chemistry knowledge, 25% testing your ability to memorize obscure conversion factors, and 25% "gotcha" questions. Avoid.

Nice guy but not the greatest teacher. He was a little difficult to understand sometimes but he has his own website where you can get his power points. Tests are very hard, so study! I learned more from the book than I did from his lectures. Take advantage of SI Sessions when they are offered! They can help a lot!

No incentive what so ever to go to lectures, he goes back and forth very hard to follow. Should not be teaching 100 level courses, no way to increase your grade such as homework, grade is based on 4 tests only, getting A's and B's in all other classes and have held a 3.8 GPA for the last 4 yrs but failing his class!

He is aweful i could use a better adjective but i wont. he does not give any material besides the book. no notes. only lecture with few pieces of info... no homework, no quizzes, no fluff. Tests, final lab. How is anyone supposed to pass a class without any knowledge of what is expected

Vanysek loves Chemistry and German Shepards. His test are difficult, but he will give partial credit or all credit if he can tell you are on the right track. He is impossible to contact outside of class. No multiple choice. Grades on homework/ quiz from recit and test and final.

this guy is amazing... he has an awkward sense of humor which I find hilarious. he gives a small amount of homework but his tests are derived from these few problems. the TA is very helpful too and is willing to help. Chemistry 211 is a hard and boring class but petr is the one to take if you need general chemistry 2.
