Comment:

Loved Dr. Beike. Shes a pretty lenient professor and even let us choose our first exam format. She gives out key terms for every exam that are very straightforward. Not an extemely easy class because of the material, but the professor makes it worth it. Compared to other peoples Psych classes, this professor seems the best route.

Comment:

I absolutely loved Dr. Beike and this class. Attendance is not mandatory but her lectures are so interesting that you will want to go. She lets the class vote on what type of tests they want (MC, essay, etc.). She gives you a list of key terms for each test. If you know everything that is on it, you will for sure do well. Needed book.

Beike is the best teacher I have had so far. She caters the class content to what students would find most interesting and is always ready to answer any questions. If she does not know the answer, she will research it and answer it next class. There are several online quizzes that are not difficult to answer and 2 tests plus the final.

She is hands-down the best teacher I've had at the U of A. She is extremely fair and lets the class vote on test format. On top of that, she puts a page on the back of every test where you can explain your thought process on a MC question and if your thought process makes sense, she gives credit. She truly just wants you to learn and have fun

Beike is really great. She's not going to coddle you, but if you ask for help she's always willing to lend a hand. Really knows her material. PP slides from lecture posted online, but her in-class additional information is usually on the test as well so don't skip every day. Caters the test format around what the class wants.

Honors Psyc: Great class, very interesting and super easy to make an A. Tests were graded fairly and you'll make a good grade if you can connect the experiments and topics. Notes posted online, didn't use the textbook too much.

Very nice and helpful teacher. Plenty of notes and the key terms list for each test is very helpful. Psychology is not my major so the stuff was incredibly boring, but still she made some of it interesting and funny. Book not needed. Good teacher though.

She knows what shes talking about and explains things really well. Unfortunately she is really quite and unexciting. I fell asleep almost everyday at my 930 class. So if you take her, maybe do it later in the day. But she is a good teacher just quiet and a bit uninteresting if youve had any psych before.

She is a wonderful teacher. I highly recommend her to everyone. She has a great sense of humor and makes it fun to go to class. She is very knowledgeable about psychology and makes every effort to make sure the students keep up. Highly recommend!

Comment:

The most practical social science elective I took. Class is not exactly thrilling, but it's enough to stay awake. Writing the papers is a dreadful experience, but the tests are quite reasonable. It really helps that she shows a thorough interest and knowledge of the subject matter and associated research.

Beike rocks! She seems cold in class but in person she's the most personable lady ever! You do have to study the material for her class, but if you read the text once and study your notes (outlines of which are online) you should make an A. Don't blow the papers off though their worth about 1/3 what the tests are. Nail the tests and you'll be fine.

Great teacher! She keeps me interested, and really know her stuff. Even if you're not a psychology major, take this class cuz she makes it worth it. Tests are relatively easy: MC and essay. Book is almost unnecessary. Just go to class everyday! Lectures are VERY IMPORTANT. Required experiment participation are a hassle though.

Very clear, interesting professor with a plethora of knowledge at her command. She is very knowledgable in her area, and keeps the class very interesting.
