Should not be teaching anymore. Turned a potentially helpful class into one based purely in theory. He is not open to criticism on testing. He thinks that by handwriting lists and theory we are thinking critically. Definitely the worst class I've taken in my JMU career, would NOT recommend.

DuBose nit picks quite a lot on papers, and don't expect to get a "justifiable" grade on your group presentation from him either. Do your best to get good grades on his quizzes and the 2 tests, or you might be finding yourself on the fence for the B- quota due to his paper grading. Take him or not, he's like most 202 teachers from what I heard.

I have absolute respect for Dr. Dubose. He is, however, dead set on his policies. DO NOT MISS HIS CLASS MORE THAN 4 TIMES. I earned a B in his class, but since I missed 6 classes, I got a D. There are no excused absences. No tests, but 10 hard book quizzes. Tough grader on writing assignments. Book is useless, but is necessary for quizzes. Easy B.

DuBose is an awesome 202 teacher. There are no tests just quizzes that he gives you study guides for of what exactly what will be on them and he drops your lowest. This class is all about memos and agendas and learning to present with a team. He is a tough grader but if you put in the effort and studying you will be fine. I got a b+ with med effort

Grades papers like you're applying to Harvard Law... No tests may be enticing but trust me its not worth it. In the beginning of the course he says, for his quizzes, if you read it will be easy, but in reality these quizzes are so in depth you may have missed out on a word and you'll get it wrong.... you MAY want to avoid.

DuBose is my favorite professor at JMU. My first class on Friday's that I took only because he was teaching and I don't regret it. Class flew by, makes you comfortable with your classmates, and easy class. No test, and easy material. TAKE HIM!!!!!!!
