Extremely smart, but also has very high expectations for a gen ed course. I had to take it for my major, so I understand wanting to learn the material in detail, but for non-majors it makes no sense. Tests were incredibly difficult. If you aren't willing to put in the effort and read a lot outside of class then don't bother.

Never worked so hard to get a D in my life. You better write down every word she says because she believes you should be able to recall every single thing she has ever said whether it is truly important to learning the material or not. Don't bother asking questions. If you like ISAT, this class will make you want to switch majors.

Worst teacher alive. Maymester, read every chapter for her tests and still failed. Unwilling to work with me and just get me on my way in life. The WORST professor I've had in my 4 years at JMU. GSCI 101 during Maymester should not be as difficult as she made it. Her tests were mostly on information that she barely touched on in class. She is not helpful in or out of class. She seems to have missed the memo that this is a general education class. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS. Not worth it.

Great professor. She is very hard but it is a tough subject. I learned a lot from her and she's not as intimidating as everyone makes her out to be. I went to her office hours and she helped me so much with my homework and labs. Tests are very hard though. If you study and apply yourself, you'll be fine!

Yes she is picky and makes things harder than they need to be, but I think Dr. Henriksen is one of the best professors I've had at JMU. She is intelligent and her expectations are clear, even though they are very high. Pay attention, go for help after class, and don't complain about the work (just DO it) and you'll be fine.

Dr. H was one of the harshest professors I've ever had. She is extremely picky over every assignment. She almost made me switch out of Isat. She can be a nice lady while not instructing, but she can go from joking to angry extremely fast. Take 151 with Dr. Chen. He's a 1000 times better.

worst professor that I have ever had. I have never put so much work or had to keep SUCH and attention to detail for a 200 level class. She should be teaching graduate level work, not an entry level class. She is HORRIBLE to get an answer from and will make you feel stupid if you have a question. avoid this poor excuse for an instructor
