Take Professor Leber for any class if you are willing to work hard and do the assigned readings. I have had her organic class as well. She is extremely willing to help IF you are trying. If you put effort into her classes, you will do extremely well.

Tough professor. She's a genius. Lectures are excellent, with great explanations and very clear examples. Although she is very eager to help you in office hours, she is considerably less clear here for some reason. Follows the textbook pretty well in lecture; be sure to do the reading before each class.

Do you like teaching yourself? If yes, this class is for you. She doesn't teach, but she expects you to know stuff...for the final.

She may be good at teaching CHEMISTRY (organic), yes, I mean it's CHEMISTRY, but totally not environmental studies. She's so unclear about the materials. The class seemed easy but the final killed everyone. I loved environmental studies and being with nature. Sadly, this class made me decide not to continue environmental studies.

Leber is a wonderful person. She is adorable! and she's a great teacher who really cares about her students, IF they care about chemistry. If you're working hard, she can tell, and she'll give you the benefit of the doubt in terms of grades. I definitely recommend her for orgo.

A living encyclopedia of knowledge, Phyllis Leber is a warm and caring professor, and a dedicated scholar. Although she can be slightly out of touch with the difficulty level of the material she is teaching, she is devoted to her students and will spend as much time as needed to help them understand the concepts of Chemisty.

Great professor if you want to learn. Chemistry is a diffucult subject but Dr. Leber is one of the most willing people to help. She will make sure that you understand the concepts. You will have to do some work though.

Leber is a little weird at times, but the lady knows her stuff. I personally think she is pretty nice, but teaching a low level chemistry class just isn't her thing. If you go and see her for one-on-one help, she gets the point across. This class was based on the foundation that you read the textbook. Read the book and will will do fine.

She doesn't teach you anything you need to know for exams. The Nobel Prizes, however... Inconsistent as a grader and has anger management issues. Maybe if she was less condescending we wouldn't mind volunteering in class. Oh! Exams are at 7:30 on Tuesday mornings; Hackman isn't unlocked yet.

Terrible teacher. Couldn't understand what people would ask, wasted class time with topics that no one cared about and wouldn't be on the test. Although the questions on the exams were not difficult she took of points for no reason. Awful teacher, Awful woman (Thompsen and Fenlon may be harder but at least you'd learn something)

Dr. Leber is one of the most knowledgeable people at F&M. Her interest in both Chemistry and teaching is unrivaled. She is extremely dedicated to her students, and she really wants you to do well. You will be prepared for organic chemistry and the second level of general chemistry with her. You are very lucky if you have her, so work hard!

Leber is a very caring woman and a good perosn at heart, but she's just confused about how to teach entry level chem. She moves way too fast and wants you to figure everything out by yourself. Going in for extra help does nothing to further your understanding. I'm sure she's a great professor for a higher level course.

After having her for NTW143 and also doing summer research in her laboratory I can honestly say that Dr. Leber is one of the most wonderful, helpful and intelligent people I've ever encountered. Her knowledge of organic is extensive along with her ability to explain it to those less-aquianted with the material- which makes her an excellent prof.

It's organic, so it's going to be hard. But Prof. Leber is there if you need extra help. She had problem sessions in 211, and she's incredibly nice overall. Her lectures are AMAZING...no notes or anything, even with all those mechanisms. One of the best profs F&M has to offer!
