Took the hybrid epi course. You have to teach yourself everything b/c she won't lecture/have discussions in class. Visuals help with epi but her ppts lack them. Agree with the others, very lengthy project and not helpful when you ask her questions. No study guide either. Your best bet is to memorize the textbook for exams.

So, I know Dr. Johnson may get a bad wrap for not being the easiest professor there is, but this turned out to be a good thing. Policy is a difficult topic and we used the ENTIRE book for lecture and exams. She did try to make the topic engaging and not have every class be only lecture based. Dr. Johnson also cares a lot about student success.

Don't take Johnson unless you are ready to work for your grade. She expects a lot out of students and does not take sub par effort from anyone. Though she is tough, that is one thing I appreciate about her as a professor. It will make you a better student. You NEED your textbook. There are typically two online quizzes per week. Two exams. Not easy.

I'm led to believe that this professor was just miserable. The workload is ridiculous & she's rude. Think freshman health class meets capstone course. A stupid amount of assignments, tests, & a LENGTHY term project. Completely ruined the learning experience for me. She shouldn't be a teacher. Wasn't helpful when you asked questions. Steer clear.

DO NOT TAKE! If you ask a question she refers you back to the syllabus where the info is not laid out clearly. You have a quiz on Monday night, HW due on Wednesday, Voice Thread Replies due on Thursday, and she assigns her exams on a Tuesday night from 8-1130 and will not change the time frame!!!!

She will continually remind you how long she has been a teacher. It seems like a defense mechanism, because she is not a good teacher. She reads from powerpoints that were already made, she just 'updated' them. She doesnt know how to help you learn. She tells you to memorize - expects you figure it out alone. She needs to "teach" for med students.

DO NOT TAKE. She schedules exams with a 4 hour window- makes you reschedule work for a "100%" online class. The projects are time intensive. I had to download 50+ documents just to scratch the surface of what she wants. She gives so much information to sort through- will not answer questions. Unclear- not worth the effort for education provided.

DO NOT TAKE HER!!! She is absolutely horrible. She gives 100 question exams with only 50min and quizzes are 40 questions with 30 min. Anytime she ask for help she always says refer to the syllabus. She won't help at all!! Avoid her if you can.

Horrible professor! Do not take her at any cost. She does not help when you have questions so you get a horrible grade. She does not explain what she expect from her project only tells you to refer to the syllabus! She is not willing to help in any way and attitude if you ask her for guidance. Avoid her if you want to make a decent grade!

J. Ping is not help what so ever! She's negative and does not answer students questions. She's not willing to help and refers you back to syllabus. No reason to even have a professor as she's not there but to criticize students! Don't complain about her class or she makes it known class wide via discussion board that she'll GLADLY talking in person

Ms. Johnson's online class is an easy A or B. The textbook is required. Course is mainly quizzes, 3 discussions,2 tests and 2 projects. Honestly one of the easiest classes if you read the book and do the assignments.

When I had her for Personal Health Behaviors, I couldn't understand why she had bad reviews. After Health Promotion and Planning, I do. Avoid this class with her if possible. The minor is not worth it. She does not give clear instructions, and blames the students when most of us don't understand. She is not helpful, and does not grade fairly.

Judgemental professor. Wants to 'prepare' students for the real world-but has the process all messed up-needs a better approach-mood swings-be careful-busy busy busy busy busy work-you may want to take one less class with her class-my lesson learned frm HPS 3300.

This class has way too much content for one course, and Dr. Johnson does the best she can with it. She is sometimes very unclear with what she expects, but will give you multiple opportunities to correct your work. She is very nice and wants to help her students.

Book and attendance is absolutely mandatory. Assignments out of the book are super easy, but there are 2 big projects. I swear she goes out of her way to make them difficult. You turn it in, she makes corrections, you fix it, turn it in,and its wrong again. Boring lectures, but she randomly calls on people so pay attention. Shes very nice though.

I dont understand why there are bad ratings on here about this professor...She is an awesome professor, and she makes class very interesting. She is so funny because she doesnt try to be funny just has great sense of humor. Class is mandatory because she takes role and attendance is 10% of your grade. The book is mandatory too!

Dr. Johnson expects professional and courteous behavior from her students - read the syllabus carefully and turn assignments in on time and you'll do fine. Be prepared to participate in class discussions. There aren't that many physical activities required, mainly a lot of pre/post test, "labs" and critical thinking questions. Read the e-text.
