Comment:

You probably heard that Vargas is disorganized. That's not too far from the truth. Exams: not difficult. She gives like 2 extra credit opportunities throughout the semester, bless her - she's like the only bio prof w/ extra credit. Go to office hours before exams to go over the review sheet and you'll get a B on every test, at least.

Comment:

Prof Vargas is a very likable and funny person to talk with, and she certainly means well. However, it is undeniable that she has been the most unclear professor I've had at the college level. As far as material, microbiology is not one of the tougher courses, but Vargas' lectures are almost incomprehensible due to her jumbled and chaotic teaching.

Very unclear of exactly what she wants on exams, and that's a problem seeing as they make up 80% of the course grade. Lab was really the only enjoyable part, even though she was still very disorganized. Biggest problem is definitely clarity because she is nice and wants to help, but just can't.

She is Horrid! The Worse Bio prof. I have had here. She is unclear about everything from the topics shes teaching, to assignments. The Material is not difficult, but the frusteration that comes with her class is not worth it!

This class was the worst biology course I've taken yet. Vargas was a terrible teacher. She could not explain things well in class or in office hours though she is very nice and wants to help. She's funny and entertaining. Her tests are harder than you'd think and never what you'd expect. Extra credit is always available. Just CANNOT teach at all.

Intro to microbiology is an easy course, but only if you don't mind memorizing a lot of****. You can ace every quiz and test if you memorize all the material, takes time, but easy A-. About 6 quizes, 2 midterms, final. EXTRA CREDIT available throughout semester.
