Comment:

Great teacher! Struggled a bit to stay awake in class because sociology is incredibly boring but he asks a lot of critical thinking from the class so it works. There is a 10 point bonus for perfect attendance that we weren't told about until the very end so make sure that if you go, you always go. Term paper sucks but super easy grading. Take him!

Comment:

Took him for Contemporary Theories. Attendance is part of your grade you take lots of notes, so do yourself a favor and show up. Professor Mohan is a very nice man who is truly interested in his students and will gladly help you if you seek him out. Fun to talk to outside of class and a very forgiving grader on the paper that you have to write.

Dr. Mohan is a great professor. I took Honors Sociology and overall, it was not a hard class. The tests come from both the lectures and the textbook. Read the textbook and you'll do much better on the exams. He has an Indian accent but he repeats things a lot so it's not difficult to understand him.

Comment:

The class was pretty easy because we were allowed to choose the format of our tests and as long as you take detailed notes and use some common sense for the test, you'll be sure to do well. Mohan is extremely helpful, but he tended to be vague about the requirements for the 15-page paper. I learned a lot through this class! :)

He understands students very well. lets the class pick the format of the tests at the beginning of the year and the final isn't comprehensive. while the 15 page paper is a drag, he is fairly lenient with requirements and the grades on it are mostly high. also very willing to help students in spare time or answer any questions. i loved him.

One of my favorites. Attendance not mandatory, but helps your grade later. Paper and project are graded very, very easily. Exam isn't cumulative. You decide on your test type as a class. He loves to talk to you, about anything, and genuinely cares about your well-being and how you are doing, so go to his office and he'll love you!

Mohan is a good professor, he dedicates his life to his students, but he can be hard at times. If I didn't study pretty hard for the exams I would have failed, but a little studying really pays off in his class. GO TO HIS OFFICE AND TALK TO HIM, he loves it! But he can be closed-minded, boring lectures. Scales for attendance but not mandatory.

He's a nice guy, and he grades the big essay and project very leniently. Still, from what I've heard the other honors sociology classes didn't even have to do a 15 page paper...the class is boring; he asks questions that no one knows and will just wait till somebody finally says something.

Very nice man, but hard class! I didn't miss one class and still got a C. Nothing on his test came from the notes, it was all from the book. After the first test I figured out he got his GTA to make the test, but the GTA didn't even come to class, so everything on their was random. He said he looks at attendance at the end if you need some points.

Dr. Mohan is the nicest man ever!!! He is so sweet! Very helpful but you have to work there is a 12-15 page paper but it is not that bad I got an A- he is sweet and helpful TAKE HIM!!!

Dr. Mohan is really nice, but the class can be really dull. Attendance isn't mandatory but he passes around a roll sheet an it can help your grade in the end. Go to class and study the book and you can make an A. I wouldn't recommend his class in the early morning.

This class is so boring! It's hard to make yourself actually go because when you are there he is very hard to understand due to his thick accent. The GTA(who never goes to class) makes the test so its staright from the book not over the notes from class. Try to get another teacher if you can!

This is supposed to be an easy class, however it is NOT!! Gta makes the tests, studied hard, could only pull Bs.... highest grades on tests were only low As. NEVER CURVES!! not very willing to help either, do yourself a favor and DO NOT TAKE HIM if at all possible

This is the most boring class of all time. It is really hard to make yourself go. Someone that rated him said he cancels class a lot and they lied because he didn't cancel a single class all semester. Fairly difficult class, I wouldn't recommend it.

Dr. Mohan has a noticeable Indian accent, but he speaks English very well and is very easy to understand. His lectures are usually pretty interesting and he almost always stays on topic. He cancels class often, usually on Fridays. The TA wrote and graded the tests, which were not too hard. Test questions came both from lectures and the textbook.

Dr. Mohan is great. He is an interesting lecturer, just take notes and pay attention and you will do fine. I crammed for every single test and came out with a B in the class. The 15 pg term paper is graded easily and is not as scary as it sounds. Tests aren't too bad and you (as a clasS) get to pick which test format you would like.
