Do not miss class. The material for the exams come from his lectures. He will go over every concept multiple times. Explain it on the exam the way he explained it in class and you will do fine. I wouldn't say the book was useless, but you don't need it. You will either be amused or offended by the commentary. Probably both at some point.

He isn't the easiest and certainly not an easy going personality. But then remember, you're there for yourself! Not him! Write EVERTHING down that he mentions (skip the political commentary), and be able to recite it/draw it verbatim. Do that, and you'll do well. Don't waste your money and time on the book.

Teacher grades tests by circling random words. If your definition or essay does not agree with him, even down to one word, you will lose all points. Spends half the class giving political commentary. Only teachs certain topics in the class, ignoring other topics completely. Studied very hard for the class with little to show for it.

Kolinski is a killer when it comes to grading. You either get it or you don't - and a 25 point essay question will kill your score if you don't answer it perfectly! He is amusing, his class is not traditional of an economics course - but his notes are very key to exam, so memorize those, and try to jot down anything and everything he says.

I learned a lot in this class. The teacher is very funny at times. Study your notes and you will do well. I'll even say memorize the notes. You can read the book if you want but it will only be for your enjoyment because the lecture is all from the notes. If he mentions a persons name, Know about them. Good class.

I did not think Kolinski was as bad as everyone made him out to be. I did alot of studying but there was never any homework and only two simple assignments. I got an A in the class.

Mr. Kolinski is an excellent professor. He makes class interesting and fun. He does not use the textbook at all. I found this class extremely challenging and was shocked at the way he grades tests. Do not leave out anything or he will ding you! However, if you learn from past mistakes you will be fine. After failing Exam 1, I ended up with a B.

Record lectures b/c he goes over a lot very quickly and doesn't like to repeat it! Difficult topics, but if you record, rewrite your notes after class and study hard you should be fine. His side comments in lecture are amusing, but the subject matter is very dry. TRUST ME, bring colored pens!

His tests are frickin' hard. His grading scale is a little more lenient than professors, but you really have to know what you're doing. Class is very entertaining (I never fell asleep). The book for aggregate economics was useless--his tests are mostly from his lecture, so don't miss any class.

Funny and interesting lectures. Bring a recorder and expect to listen to them outside of class b/c of all the material he covers. Exam 1 was OK but final killed even the people who carried A's into it. Also, he never answered email. Does not keep office hours - he's not even set up his phone or PC.

All you guys must be on laughing gas or something. This guy is very deceptive, you have to take a digital recorder with you (be very attentive). He designs very tricky exams with specific pointed Qs. Very tough grader. He does have a sense of humor, but he is crazy too.

isnt called Killer Kohlinski for nothing. this guy has some of the hardest tests combined with a tough grading scheme. he is pretty funny, but after you fail one of his tests his sense of humor just annoys you.
