Solid choice. Really great at explaining things compared to other profs students say. VERY clear about what is on exams. Study WileyPlus religiously to do well. MC 25 Q Midterm 1: 20%, MC 25 Q Midterm 2: 30%, MC 50 Q Final: 40%. WileyPlus HW: 10% . Time is a factor on exams. Do not rely on curve. Every point makes difference between A and A-.

This guy was great! His lectures do get kinda boring sometimes but thats outweighed by the fact that he really knows his stuff and WANTS you to understand the concepts. If you understand everything, the lecture slides and wiley plus are more than enough for you to get a good grade in this class!

Good lecturer and he is always willing to answer questions because he wants you to really understand the concepts. There's online homework, and weekly worksheets you have to do during discussion. If you understand the online hw and the worksheets, you will be prepared for midterms and the final. Do lots of practice problems and you will be fine.

Lectures are extremely boring, but the class itself is not hard. Most of the time, lecture does not help with understanding because he goes too in depth into basic concepts and does not spend enough time on more complicated ones. Do practice problems when preparing for tests. If you can do the homework and the discussion worksheets, tests are easy.

His powerpoints tend to have lots of text on them, usually from the book, but doesn't read off of the powerpoint. Instead he explains the concepts in a much simpler way in lecture which helped me get a better understanding. Doing practice problems and going to office hours when confused definitely helps. Also uploads lectures online before class.

I would love it if he included videos/animations to the PowerPoints. Need to give us practice exams before midterms. Easy to fall asleep in class. Only reason why people love him is b/c his tests are similar to practice problems, and getting a good grade is easy, but im not grasping the love for chemistry through his teaching.

I dont know about other students, but I find him to be VERY boring. His lectures are PURELY copied and pasted through the textbook. Each PowerPoint slide is literally paragraphs after paragraphs long, and unless you have a laptop or a tablet to look at the slides, taking hand written notes AND listening is almost impossible. Do practice problems!

Honestly one of the best if not the best professor I have ever had. Easy A+ in both Chem 1B and 1C because he spoon feeds you what is going to be on the exams. He really knows his stuff, and you can tell that everyone complaining on here about how hard his exams are just doesn't study or put in the effort. Got a perfect score on everything in 1C

Dr. Arasasingham is a great teacher. I had him for the entire Chem 1 series and enjoyed every class. Although the material is hard if you do the practice problems you will do good on the tests. He is great at teaching and it one of my favorite professors so far. Take him if you can you wont regret it.

Great professor! He really wants you to learn. Great lectures, as he goes above and beyond in explaining the concepts. I took him for 1ABC and did not regret it. I wasn't that great in AP Chem but after taking his classes, I improved A LOT! He's strict but very caring toward his students. Put your work into the class and you'll do well.

His lectures consist of walls of text while he gives a very monotone lecture. While he does go in depth it is hard to stay 100% focused in class. The worst part is if you miss one thing it will put you behind and you will have to keep up. While it maybe have been his teaching style just didnt fit for me, I probably wouldnt take his class again.

Dr. Arasasingham has his lectures down! His slides are extremely detailed! I found his lecture slides straightforward and the ecoursepack summarizes it well. I also found Wiley and discussions extremely helpful for the midterms. He also hints when quizzes will be so its no surprise. The common final gets you because its very conceptual.

This class is really tough. I spent so much time and put so much effort into this class and came out with a C+.He doesn't really curve generously. The first midterm was fair and straightforward, but the second one was ridiculously hard. There's a common final. He's okay but really hard, you're probably better off taking someone else. Pop quizzes!

Arasasingham is a great lecturer and he definitely knows what he is talking about when it comes to chemistry. However, it is extremely easy to fall asleep during lecture and his exams are not similar to what you practice. The best advice I can give is to go to lecture and pay attention! Study from the homework (Wileyplus) and go over the lectures.

His lecture notes are sometimes too complicate but overall are clear and in details. He likes talking about some difficult concepts at the end of class when most students do not pay attention to. There's also pop quiz on lecture.

After having other chem professors at UCI, Arasasingham is actually a really good chem professor. He makes his expectations really clear & show lots of examples of problems he will ask on exams. You have to go to class for the pop quizzes; they add up to a second midterm grade. Go to discussion & get the eCourse pack. Prepares you well for final.

ive always struggled in chem in high school but he made it easier to understand... i never read the book. if you take notes from his lectures and study those notes, youll do fine. also, go to the reviews and ask your TAs if you need help.

ALL HAIL RAMESH, GREATEST HUMAN BEING ON PLANET EARTH. he's the head of the gen chem department so he has the greatest power over what goes on the common final given to all chem students. he gives hw but you have unlimited attempts to get a 100 percent and he has in class quizzes that range from 5-10 questions. you will do great if you read!!!

I love this Professor! He explains things so well and makes himself available for students. You can tell he really loves chemistry, and loves his students only slightly less. His test are difficult, but I would have his difficult class over an easy to pass class anyday. To do well, practice wiley, and do the lec. examples. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?
