Also review for 2620. Grading is subjective and depends on your TA somewhat. I had to adjust to grading styles between 2610 and 2620, but generally, write lots of notes, go to review with your TA, and regurgitate your notes in the form of essays on the tests. He's GREAT, I never fell asleep in this class b/c he's that entertaining.

Comment:

Randolph (Mike) Campbell is a very knowledgable, very good professor. His knowledge of the subject is extensive and his lectures are very insteresting. This is a VERY hard class though, so be prepared to take very good notes and study hard. The tests are mostly essay and the TAs grade very hard.

Dr. Campbell is an awesome teacher. VERY wellspoken and you really understand the history like a story! However, it is a very challenging class for me test-wise. The TAs expect a LOT of details, use of concepts, & tying information together of the essays... Sounds like college huh? I dont know I just find it kind of hard.. But I love his lectures!

Greatest teacher i've ever had! He made my first two semesters of college worth while. You are lucky if you get to be his student. I loved both of his classes, and it made history (a subject I hated before) actually interesting! and not so hard to learn. Love him.

He expects nothing but the best from you. A key of advice is to know everything. His tests are hard and the notes are not posted. There is an outline but I find that in order to know all the material I have to write down all of exactly what he says. Overall,he is a passionate teacher, but he has hard essay tests!Don't take if you want an easy grade

Dr. Campbell is probably the best teacher I have had in my 3 years at UNT. I always hated history until I took his class. He makes the subject very easy to listen to and understand. I took him for two semesters and would LOVE to take him again. He is so intelligent and wonderful!! Easy B if you attend class. Easy A if you put in effort and study.

This was my favorite class! Not only do i love history in general, but campbell makes it interesting and has a unique perspective on everything. he makes the class entertaining and educational which is usually hard to do. its either fun and easy or dull and hard, his class is both fun and challenging. i highly recommend him.

The best professor I've ever had. He makes the material very interesting and you will learn a lot. His TA's are very helpful and their review sessions will help you out a lot. His tests are essay based but come straight from the lecture and if you pay attention you can pick up on what he thinks is important. I would highly recommend his class.

I took this class 3 years ago and am just now rating it after finding my notes on my laptop. Campbell is the best and most interesting teacher I have ever had (and I am now attending an Ivy caliber school). He has lived through most of what he teaches and he has a truly unique perspective on it all. I LOVED HIS CLASS!!!!!!

This teacher is GREAT! His tests come straight from his lectures. I never studied until the last minute and still got a B in the class. There is barely ever reading assignments. He understands and teaches the material very well. As long as you takes notes and show up for the tests you are fine!

Absolutely amazing instructor. Straight from lecture. Unbelievably minimal reading for a history class. Very charismatic. HIGHLY recommended.
