Comment:

AWD is a college course, so don't act surprise when you actually have to think. Professor Conroy is one of the few teachers that truly wants you to succeed and gives you the proper tools to do so. She is always reachable for help with your work, but she won't do it all for you. She's also a closet metalhead :). I'd retake her class just for fun.

Fun class, cool teacher. If you put in the work and effort, you will do well and enjoy the class. Her system of editing papers is unique and helpful. She is good with one-on-ones if you make a point to meet with her.

AWESOME teacher. Very funny, approachable and helpful. Very clear on what is expected. AWD is a hard course and she really tries to help the students, take advantage of her office hours. Don't take this course with anyone else!

Comment:

AWD is notoriously one of the worst classes at Northeastern, but one that everyone has to take. Conroy definitely made this class worth it, though. She's really lenient about deadlines and grades; classes are fun and laid-back. She has a great relationship with her students and always willing to help. I wouldn't want to take AWD w/ any other prof.

This class is hard for everyone and required as well. That said, Conroy made this course worth taking. She has an interesting sense of humor which is not easy for most people, but don't be scared. Conroy is perhaps one of the most understanding professors I have ever had and sincerely interested in helping her students become successful writers.

While the requirements of the AWD class may be demanding (totally not her fault)she sure knows how to make it worth the effort. The class is a reqirement for all students, so if you want to actually learn something and feel like its time well spent, take the class w/ Prof Conroy. She totally rocks!

Tiffany Conroy is awesome! Best class I have ever taken at Northeastern University. She's clear and to the point, nothing complicated. Shes funny as hell and has a casual relationship with her students, which makes it fun for everyone. I definitely recommend Conroy for advanced writing!! She is by far the most understanding teacher Ive ever had!!!

Ms. Conroy is a pretty cool person and made AWD easy. Be warned though... I gotta say that she isn't a great match for people who are kind of dumb. She doesn't hold your hand or go over self-explanatory things. The comment: "She gave me a D on an A paper" is--well first of all hilarious--and very telling of her teaching style. Recommended.

This is possibly the worst class i have ever taken. not only is she rude and snide towards her students, but she refuses to help. her favorite saying is "just go with it" when you ask her for help, and when you get your paper back the highest grade in the class is a B-. she sucks so much, do not take her class.dont waster your time learning nothing

Dreaded this class at first but it turned out great. You have to do a fair amount of outside research for papers but the prof. allows time to draft and work on your topic. Very approachable and helpful, highly recommended.

I'm not sure what everyone else's problem on here is, but Conroy was a great prof for AWD this semester. Her assignments were extremely clear and she gave great comments and plenty of time to write and re-write the papers. She often held office hours and gave constructive ideas on how improve our papers. I highly recommend her to anyone taking AWD.

Overall, not the worst teacher I've had. She lets you do your thing for the most part, but make sure she knows what your thing is before you hand in the paper, because otherwise you might get an awful surprise-- she made me rewrite the first of the papers despite a horribly busy schedule. All in all, poor at communicating guidelines.

WFT, I loved her. Dreaded Middler Year, but the new AWD is amazing. I learned a TON and a half. She is very helpful, always has regular office hours and only holds class twice a week. Seriously, just do the work on time, come to class, revise your work, and you'll be fine. As someone else said, THIS IS COLLEGE! Get yo**** together.
