He's really nice and friendly. He wants you to get an A in his class. Just ask questions if you don't understand, he'll make sure you know what you're doing. I didn't learn a lot that I'll use in everyday life, but it's pretty easy if you just show up.

Never took him as a prof, but most of his students from his classes that pass with A's are slightly dumber then rocks (computer/programmingwise). I think this translates poorly to the professor since they still don't know basics after 116.

Hes a gr8 man and I have lots of respect for him. He teaches you just what you go in there to learn THE BASICS. He gives short lecture sometimes sure, but thats because he expects you to STUDY to USE THE BOOK. I did well so :P.

Good guy, very friendly. Like talking to your Grandpa so don't be afraid to ask for help. Tests are challenging, but the assignments will balance you out if you try hard and get them done. Really enjoyed going to class....other than being confused.

Do not take him. Doesn't teach you anything! I got an A in the class because of my independent study but failed 216 2 times because I didn't have the basics I needed to succeed. You only attend class for 20 minutes each lecture and then he lets you go.

Had hock back in the 90's, have since graduated and have a very successful career in IT. I can tell you that Hock will not teach you jacksh**. Nothing he teaches you will prepare you for the real world.
