Dr. Niekamp is the bomb. sometimes he screams at you, but it's only to simulate real world experience. I loved him, he's hilarious, wish I had more classes with him. Thanks for being a cool cat Niekamp, and you have earned this "hotness chili pepper."

I've had years of video experience outside of school (not news related) and I have to say, Niekamp definitely taught me some things about studio productions. He'll keep you on your toes and yell at you if you mess up but in the end you'll realize that it is needed and that he truly cares about what he does.

Niekamp is friendly, really knowledgeable, and great at feedback. He's very fair and even allowed re-writes. The technical material is boring at times, but he tries his best to keep you interested. If you're ever struggling, he does everything he can to help you with your assignment. Pretty reachable A, VERY easy B.

Dr. Niekamp cares a lot about doing our broadcasts right, so if you mess up don't be surprised if he yells at you for it. There's a big group project where you have to make a PSA and a solo project where you direct a production. There's only two tests, which are both pretty easy. You can't miss the labs or you'll lose a grade point each time.

Probably the best professor I've had at Texas State. He allows re-writes so you can improve your grade for each assignment. He has a lot of experience in the field and relates it to class. Attending every class is the difference between an A and a B in this course because of the numerous quizzes and writing assignments.

Great prof. Really helped me get into reporting. He's very helpful in class, so don't be afraid to call on him. He gives open-book style quizzes as well as current events quizzes which are very easy. He also allows rewrites for every assignment, so failing this class is very difficult.

I really enjoyed this class. It involves lots of hands-on learning which was awesome! He is a really nice person. Sometimes he flies off the handle, but i think it's just to give us a feel for real world TV broadcasting.

I took him during the summer, and it was an easy A. Go to class and take notes and you should be fine. He is a great teacher and presents the material clearly. I would take a class from him again.

Niekamp is a good guy with a dry,proffessor sense of humor. The way he speaks reminds me of the rabbi in Seinfeld that tells everyone Elaine's secret confessions. Does that help?
