Go to class and take notes. You don't need to say one word all class just sit and take notes. You have 3 grades in the class. Two tests and one paper. Tests are both open notebook and the paper is easy. Great and interesting class. Very easy

Cute little old man. Lectures can be boring sometimes but if you go to class and take notes, it's an easy A. The books are easy, quick reads but some of them you don't even have to read if you know enough about the topic.

Opinions on are divided as I expected, however I love the guy. Long lectures, however I am never bored listening. He really is like a grandfather telling stories. He goes off topic frequently to tell some anecdote from his childhood, however I find them highly amusing. Show up to class, take notes, read the books they are not difficult.

This class is definitely not for anyone who is not a history major. Every class is a long boring lecture. All the packets are almost never used. The only helpful thing is that the exams are open notebook, but the exam is so long that you can't even finish it so the point is completely gone. It is super easy to fall asleep during the class.

US since 1877. Professor loves the subject. He pays close attention to who goes to class and who's late. Attendance is not counted as a grade. However, the midterm and final are open notes and based on lectures and books. There's not 1 textbook but rather several books (250-350pgs each) assigned throughout the course.

You have to come to class because he doesn't assign an actual textbook and tests are open notes. He keeps attendance, but in the syllabus attendance isn't even factored into your grade. He's an interesting guy, but he tells a lot of random stories.

His grading is biased. No point of taking this class if you do not major in journalism. "Media" in the title of the class is misleading.

hate his class, 65 mins or straight boring lecture, needs to realize not everyone is a history major, 3 grades all semester, 90 years old, out of touch with reality.

Someone needs to tell this guy that some of us are not history majors and are only taking this class for a history credit. Not only that, but his class consists of him talking for the full class. If you love history and reading, take this class. If not, do not even think about taking this class.
