Very good teacher. Classes were always interesting, and his sonorous voice was easy to listen to. He's a master at sarcasm and will slaughter you if you ask a stupid question-- but he's very willing to help if you ask, and makes the class quite enjoyable.

Had him for En 102 and Modern American Lit. He's very intimidating to freshmen (with good reason), but loosens up with older students. Great sense of humor, very sarcastic. Be ye warned about asking dumb questions, though. You can and will get roasted! Hahaha.

Had him for 3 classes so far, and am looking forward to taking some more with him. Yes, he's not afraid to fry you for stupid questions, but he doesn't hate his students. He's just very honest. An excellent professor. He took time aside to help me, because he knew I was slacking in his class and did his best to help me out. He talks with a more precise sentence structure than most people are able to write with. I loved the conferences he offered; they allowed for personal feedback and a way to get to know him.

Dr. St. John is the BEST teacher ever! He is SO intelligent and helpful! At first he seems intimidating, especially for those of us who had him in En 102. But, honestly, he will do everything he can to encourage and help you out. And who can forget his voice? I could listen to him all day! :)
