Dr. Hall is a great professor. You have one group project for the semester. You have to write a critique for half of the group projects that are presented. He does clicker quizzes on the readings once a week. His personality takes time to get used to. He is a little nerdy with the topics and physics but he is very likable.

Comment:

Dr. Hall is a great teacher. But don't buy the textbook. I never opened it once and got an A. Yes, 4A is really difficult, but it's doable if you put the work in. My one complaint is he gets way behind homework due dates so that he barely lectures on a topic before the homework is due. For this reason he deserves 4.5/5.

Each Thursday there's a different topic & group of students who present this is the only group project. After the group Dr. Hall then goes further into it. You write about 7 critiques which are on the topics presented Thursday. Each Tuesday there are clicker questions based on the readings & lectures given to prepare you for the next presentation.

It was an absolute pleasure taking Professor Hall's class. Thanks to him, Physics is now one of my favorite courses. Ask questions, he will gladly answer them. Take Physics 4A with Professor Hall if you have the opportunity, you will be thankful that you did.

Tries to make the class interesting with videos and demonstrations. He talks at a million miles an hour when lecturing and it can be very difficult to keep up with him. Material builds upon each other, so it is important to pay attention. There is a participation percent based on iclicker questions and he starts them immediately, so don't be late.

Dr. Hall is very helpful. There are clicker quizzes just about every class but if you miss some there is PLENTY of extra credit questions he asks :) There are some assignments (responses to presentations, homework questions about topics learned in class, etc ) as well as a group presentation . Interesting class! He's very good at explaining!

Very hard subject, and the thing that made it worst was that they started using smartPhysics which gave us homework 3 times harder than what they should have been and his test are fair but very hard to prepare for due to the very difficult homework, most people never complete the homework.

Dr. Hall is a very very smart professor. He knows something about nearly every subject and he is a very straight forward instructor. i would highly recommend taking any class from him as he always puts in the extra effort to help his students.

His class is hard, but he does what he can to help his students. The tests consist of two multiple choice sections, one conceptual and the other applying equations. The last part of the test is a free response questions which requires knowledge of there subjects covered. He is a great teacher and made physics a lot of fun.

Dr. Hall is a fantastic person, he is so sweet and VERY helpful (responds to emails ASAP). In class, the material can get tedious at times, do the reading so you can get the iclicker questions. The class isn't that difficult, so don't stress. I have seen Dr. Hall outside of class multiple times and he is just a great guy, totally approachable.

Loved this class! Dr. Hall is a physics professor so he incorporates physics in some of his lectures (I found it interesting). iClickers are used for daily quizzes. One group project is extremely easy. 5 one-page 'critiques'are also required along with one term paper and a final. All of which are easy. He is very approachable and is a great teacher

Great teacher he responds to email within an hour, sometimes within minutes. VERY helpful. His physics rants can be annoying, but hey he's normally a physics teacher so it makes sense. You use iClickers for attendance so attendance does matter but it's not necessary. One group project that's easy. TAKE HIM!

Dr. Hall is a really fun teacher! he loves the subject and knows so much about it. there is a big group project and thats about it. iclicker most classes, i recommend going to class + its interesting. boring when he goes on his physics rants (normally physics teacher). great class. take it!!

The hw does not relate to the tests at all. And the lectures don't relate to the difficulty of the tests. The tests are very hard. The stuff you learn on the hw will not help you solve the problems on the test. You must read the book in order to do good in this class. You get extra credit points for iClicker participation too.

This teacher is so smart, he's a bit of a nerd! But I feel like I have learned a lot. There is required reading and a group project, but it's all doable. He can be confusing once in a while, and it may seem like he's not on topic. Lecture can be boring sometimes, but he tries! Uses powerpoints, I recommend him.
