Took her over the summer, so class went fast. Met with her outside of class many times to clarify work. She's been teaching here since the 70s, so she knows her stuff. Just meet and talk with her if you feel lost and she will help you get back on track. She likes to give pop quizzes if attendance in class is low, so go to class!

You basically have to teach yourself because there is no book and her lectures are mostly pictures. Loved her as a person hated her as a teacher

No textbook required. I liked her personality but the tests were something else. If everyone in the class failed a test, don't you think it might be something to do with the test maker? So many questions on the test were not on the review. The class goes by fast but she says "go ahead" a lot.

This class was stressful and it did not need to be. You barely get any grades back, there are few things you are graded by, and nothing is clearly explained to you. I wish I had never taken this class and this class was part of the reason I decided to switch my major to something other than education.

This class was extremely frustrating. It seemed like no one in the class knew what they were doing. The tests are very hard. She never puts grades in the grade book. Lab is also rough but never lasts the entire time. Attendance is not mandatory except randomly she will take attendance and have it worth 20+ points. This class is rough.

Ms. Baker is very caring, will always help you on homework, and is willing to extend deadlines. But she's extremely disorganized; we were supposed to have four unit exams, but only took one. The final just threw everything else we learned together. She told us the final exam would be multiple choice math problems; we had problems, but no choices.

You will never see a grade even before your final. She gave everybody a B for midterm grades and told us some are doing better than that and some are doing worse. The labs we do in class could be done by elementary students yet the tests are very difficult. I'm still not sure where she got some of her questions from. The first test was 50 T/F q's.

Professor Baker is extremely nice except she rarely gives grades back. You're stuck wondering what your grade is all semester. Fortunately, however, she grades things easily. Overall it was alright but I don't feel like I ever really learned a thing because I knew she would give me a good grade no matter what.

Baker is a very caring teacher, but no matter how hard you work, it's pretty much an A handed to you if you turn all the assignments in. She will glance through your assignments and give you full credit. I didn't get an entire grade back the entire semester, and since I had turned everything in, she gave me an A. Easy class if you show up.

Dr. Baker is a very nice and entertaining professor. I typically got out of class early because the labs were very simple and she helped me if I needed it. This class was easier than my high school general physics class. Only complaint, she hasn't turned in a single grade all semester and we took one test, the rest was group work. Very easy class.

Finals are in a month and she hasn't put in any grades. She gives a lot of extra credit in lecture... but no one in my class has any idea what is going on during lecture. Her labs are confusing and she'll take off points for you not knowing a concept in lab that she hasn't taught in lecture. Most frustrating professor I've had yet.

She was a really easy grader and if you put in a little effort, it's an easy A. Don't skip her lectures though, because she gives out free extra credit sometimes. Her labs are difficult but she'll help you through it.

Becky is a pretty good professor. Lab is really easy though and it's always group activities. Lecture is pretty important to go to, but it's hardly ever mandatory. Be prepared for random clicker quizzes for participation points. She offers a lot of extra credit in lecture though!

Becky cares about her students so much if u get to know her. Me and my girlfriend took this class together and she loved us. If she doesn't say the test is onine ask her to put it online during lecture and she'll do it. Overall it's an easy A as long as u do everything and Astronomy is interesting!

I hated this class more than any other Gen Ed. She would show us pretty pictures of outer space during lectures then test us over actual concepts that we never reviewed. She would periodically make the room very dark then turn on the lights without any warning. On the positive, she would get annoyed when students didn't show and give bonus points.

Ms. Baker is quite a character. She's very lively and personable, but her lectures and tests are awful. Her lectures drag on and on for an hour and fifteen minutes and her tests are extremely confusing. Notes are on Blackboard, making it easy to skip, and tests are taken at home, which you would think is helpful, but really it doesn't help at all.

I love astronomy. I have a great passion for it. If it wasn't for that she surely would have broken it. Her tests are difficult to understand and very vague, and I am entirely convinced that her information is outdated. By all means, take Dr. Patterson for 115 instead. There is no reason I should have a C in my favorite class.
