Professor DeYoung is a truly inspiring character. There was a ton of reading for this class, but due to how she would engage with the class and the texts, I always looked forward to the reading. This class profoundly changed my life and perspective for the better, and I am very grateful for that. Take this class if you can, you will not regret it.

Absurdly good professor. Never learned this much from another course and I took this as a non-major elective. Just a joy to attend these lectures as the amount you learn is incredible. Fair grader - I didn't get a good grade but that's all on me. Also, ask her about her pet lobster for extra credit.

Professor DeYoung is THE BEST! You definitely need to take Intro to Phil with her. She is invested in her students and open to questions, thoughts, and feedback. She is inspirational and will teach you so much. Her tests are hard, but there are other assignments that can help your grade, as long as you apply yourself. I highly suggest her.

A wonderful and admirable woman! She was one of my biggest mootivations for sticking with philosophy. I absolutely respect and admire her. She is a true role model. A mother of 4 now and still a brilliant woman who juggles a family and an amazing career. Definitely take her if you can. Challenging but also very helpful.
