Rarely have I encountered a Professor with a passion for her subject of study, or students. Rebecca is truly one of the best Prof's I have ever had. If you take an interest in the course, you will succeed in it, and it's difficult to not take an interest with Rebecca teaching.

Rebecca is a very passionate teacher, especially when it comes to the arts. However, YOU have to take the initiative to learn the things though as she has such high expectations- come to class not knowing the lesson, you get a mouthful AND MORE from her! Though I did excel in this course, I find her disorganized and gets lost in her thoughts.

I really enjoyed Rebecca's class, taken her twice. She's VERY willing to help her students achieve the best they can, very willing to move around due dates to fit the students schedules. Knows what she's talking about and displays an admirable enthusiasm for what she teaches. If you listen in class and read the text and handouts then tests are easy

Personally, I found her to be highly irritating, especially if you want to sit and listen to her talk about nothing for several hours (thats if she shows up on time). You end up teaching yourself and getting practically a whole tree worth of handouts.

I enjoyed Rebecca's class. Then again, I enjoyed the subject matter. If you have no interest in art and just want a concise summary of exactly what will be on tests it's probably not the class for you. Tests are fair. Youre given a slide sheet weeks in advance and its all covered in lectures. So you aren't only given a week to prepare.

Comment:

Her passion and talent for teaching made me switch majors: PoliSci to Art History. Some people think she is flakey but you get what you put in. I took her class three years ago and I haven't had a teacher that fabulous since. She was life changing. If you want to be inspired take any of her classes.

Basically an old hippie soul, who loves art. But test formats are horrible! Three essays on three sets of slides, but she switches between slides so it is difficult to write about one's slides when they're not being shown on the wall. No wonder so many students did badly on her exams in my class!

Comment:

Rebecca does have her Romantic side, but she also provides challenging discourses on a wide swath of art history. Rather than just being "art appreciation", she brings out issues relevant to the material, especially gender issues. Given the current political climate, this is essential.

she has her moments, and can bring alot to the learning environment, but is often ill-prepared and longwinded. very unstructured (which can be good and bad). alot of history with only a little bit of art in her art history classes.

Nice person, bad teacher. Constantly forgets words she's trying to use in her lecture, spends too much time complaining that students aren't passionate - it's true (it's because she's hard to follow). Didn't learn much. However, slackers will love her.

Awesome! If you like creative writing, you'll love her term papers. IN lieu of a paper of presentation, you can write a story encompassing the mood of a piece. Awesome. and if your paper makes her cry, you get a great mark.

Very passionate about what she is teaching and really cares about her students. Easy marker, but she spends her lectures reading too many quotes from books. Her essay topics are great and she allows you a great amount of freedom in your writing.
