Tough class. She hid our average the entire time when asked what average was she said you figure it out by counting up all of your points, which made it difficult because not everything was out of 100 points somethings were graded out of 125 150 points. Never gave back my first paper so I didnt know what I missed when writing my second paper.

Had Mrs. Ferguson for the hybrid class so all work was online except for 4 speeches. Make sure to keep up with the online work as it adds up to hurt your grade if you don't. Learn Smarts, quizzes, tests. For me, the speeches were easy and this was a very easy class. She tells you what shes looking for before every one starts their speech. Nice lady

She is a very considerate and compassionate teacher. Wants her students to learn how to speak not how to be mini versions of her. Really knows her stuff and is incredibly helpful and humble. If you have to take speech, take it with her.

Public speech isn't my biggest thing. I did fairly well in the class, although I think this teacher sets some of the feedback deadlines too soon as she wasn't able to give feedback out for the last speech.

She's an amazing teacher! Really enjoyed taking her class. I'm terrified of public speaking and still am but she made it and the people in my class made it bareable. I had a great time in this class and if I ever had to take it again, I would take it with her.

By far one of the most underappreciated professors at Tech! Ms. Ferguson deserves so much more credit and respect! She is a phenomenal teacher and goes out of her way to make students feel welcome as well as teach. If you need speech (everybody does), TAKE THIS WOMAN!

Mrs. Ferguson is the best teacher for commendation and a "can do attitude". She makes everyone feel like public speaking is possible. I took the online hybrid class and I TOTALLY recommend it! She grades fairly on the final product, but she will give you feedback if you turn your assignment in early so you can perfect it before the final draft!

Difficult class but the professor makes it better. Super understanding of stuff going on outside of class. Always worked with me when I had other assignments going on. Will respect you if you respect her. As long as you listen and do not talk during the class, she is the sweetest human being.

I was really not looking forward to Public Speaking. I took it during the summer online and you are required to meet four times for your speeches. At first I did not care about my grade at all and I hoped for a C, but I ended up really enjoying the class and making an A. Mrs Ferguson is great and you will learn info that you will actually use.

Took her hybrid public speaking class over the summer, she made public speaking bearable. She grades toughly, but gives good feedback that is actually useful in helping you become a better speaker. If you want an A, you have to work for it. Easy open book tests and no final!

Took her class over the summer online. The only complaint with the class was the last minute instructions provided just before we gave our speeches. Otherwise she's passionate and accessible for any issue you have. I would take her class again.

Best teacher ever!!! Her lectures were so fun. She was very accessible outside of class. She really wanted to help her students. She created morning meetings before our speech days to boost our confidence and help us succeed. Her feedback on our speeches was helpful. She made me a much better speaker. I wish all of my teachers were Mrs. Ferguson!

I took the online hybrid class where we only met for speeches. I found Mrs. Ferguson inspirational and encouraging before speeches. I recommend turning in outlines by feedback deadline and make changes accordingly. This could save your grade. Slow at returning grades for textbook work and discussion post, but gives speech grades back right away.

At the beginning of the semester, she was really great. The class was great. However, halfway through her attitude, towards me at least, changed and she seemed condescending and kind of rude. Not sure if there was something personal going on? She is nit-picky, sometimes a little bit too nit-picky about speeches but that is kind of her job.

Buy textbook. Open book tests with no final exam. Massive workload. Critical on speeches. She takes points off for things not yet covered. Outdated video recording process, you give 2 speeches b4 you review the 1st. No sympathy if 2 hours late on an assignment, takes weeks to get some grades back. She is very encoraging though. 2 critical for me

I have really bad general anxiety, social anxiety, and prone to panic attacks. I was terrified of taking public speaking. she makes you feel so comfortable in the class room. She is a tough grader because this is a college speech course but there is no way you could fail as long as you try. She gave me confidence I never knew I could achieve.

This teacher withdrew me from the class for "not attending" even though it was an online class and I had already turned in three assignments. She claimed there was nothing she could do about it and stopped answering my emails.
