An easy and fun class. Dr. Holberton's passionate about her field, uses lots of interesting examples, and gives fun and simple lectures. There's no homework, textbook reading, and exams are super easy. If you show up and pay attention in lecture and do the bare minimum for studying you'll easily get an A. She loves answering/discussing questions!

Professor Holberton is the best teacher I've had at UMO. Her lectures are very interesting and she loves answering any questions you have. Class is mandatory, but trust me, you'll be excited to go. Bio 354 has been the best class I've taken. Tests are relatively easy if you actually study the material and pay attention to the examples she gives.

Dr. Holberton is one of the best professors at UMO! Her lectures are always very interesting and she goes above and beyond for her students. She has review sessions for her students before exams and she really, really cares about the progress of her students. Her only downfalls are how SPECIFIC her test questions are, attendance, posting lectures.

Dr. Holberton is very self-centered. It makes her lectures kind of difficult to sit through. She does not post full slides online, so class is mandatory. Missing class more than 2 times results in a full letter grade drop. Attendance sheet passed around at the beginning of class. All around, difficult professor, but relatively easy course work.

Test questions are literally the worst worded questions I have ever had. Test questions are specific, but specific questions are not important at all to test material. Went mostly over orthology when the course was called "Animal Behavior".

Excellent course and excellent teacher! The previous review posted here should be read with skepticism. That person had a grudge against the professor. Hard to take it seriously when the student can't even put the correct course title in (it was BIO 354...).

Avoid at all costs. Lectures in which she reads off powerpoints in a monotone are mandatory. Somehow makes an interesting, intuitive subject dull and confusing. Very defensive about being questioned. Ugh. One of the worst classes I've had (too bad, because I was very excited about the material).

Shes a busy lady and a little hard to catch in her office for help but she WILL make time for you no matter what. Her power points are easy to follow and each one is more interesting than ones before it. She loves in depth discussion and shes a great person to know on campus and just loves what she does 100%.

Great teacher! Very thorough notes and lectures. Notes are easy to follow. The exams have very detail-orientated questions, but they're easy if you're prepared! Also had her for BIO 200.

I had her for an advisor and she was determined to keep me in the biology program although I said that I wanted to change. She told me to double major instead. She wasnt very open to other thoughts aside from that she is friendly when the topics are non-academic
