One of the most genuine and knowledgeable profs at BCIT. It's hard to come by an instructor who spends the time to make sure students understand and cares about if you do well. It's a tough course but he gives lots of chances for you to improve your mark. Doubt he will see this, but if his kids are reading: tell Rene he's a legend!

Probably THE nicest guy you will meet in the ABT Program at BCIT. Senior fellow who loves to chat with everyone. He is a quiet guy so lectures may be a bit tough to listen in, but he is one of the most experienced guys in the program. His notes are a mess and none of the lecture material is available online, so be sure to attend his lectures

Rene is really a great guy, has all the experience in the industry anyone could want from a teacher and the charisma & oratory skills to pass it on. Unlike a couple profs he cares about helping you; if you ever get him free for a while you can learn anything in construction. Just pay attention in class, notes are terrible and tests have random Q's

Rene is one of the nicest teachers in the ABET program. He can be very confusing when in lecture, but just go to him after and he will take all the time you need to help you understand. He genuinely wants everyone to succeed, and he puts in the hours to help you out, he has even been known to show up on weekends to help people out!

He isn't all that clear, he is trying to teach a classroom full of people with and without experience. It is difficult to follow him sometimes, but definitely VERY helpful when you have question. One of the rare teachers who are willing to help you !!! HES AWESOME!

Very difficult to sift or relate to Rene's stories from actual course content. It's inconvenient that there are no real notes to refer to-mostly handouts that can help if you know what to look for in 'em. I attended all the lectures and labs, studied hard and still failed the midterm. I guess I'm going to have to start bugging Trevor, the poor guy.

Hard class. Hard marker. Very nice guy. Comes in on Sat to help students. Mono-tone but good jokes and lots of half-on-topic anecdotes. Overall we like Renee! Just buy your Red Bull wholesale at Costco cause you're gonna need it to stay awake after you've been up all night on these assignments!! PS: LISTEN CAREFULLY! He goes over things very fast!
