By far the most unforgiving marker I have ever had in university. No wiggle room with deadlines. Impossibly high standards in conjunction with other courses. When I was doing well in her class its because it demanded all my attention - and my other classes suffered as a result! Good for summer or online - but not if you have a full class load.

Rhonda is fantastic! Her lectures are very informative, and she is always respond to any emails or questions quickly, and she offers a lot of fantastic feedback. Rhonda definitely does her best to give students the best educational experience! :)

Comment:

Rhonda is a great lecturer and provides clear expectations for assignments and tests. If you are not good at grammar, this course might be difficult. Unlike other professors I have had she takes the times to go through assignments and formatting. She is helpful and caring towards students that put forth effort.

She is extremely condescending in her feedback. She accused me of not having done the work (likely gives feedback by grade). Worst course experience in 4 years of university. Her comments insinuated I was stupid and she didn't share key information for improvement until 60% of grade was complete. She also chooses to ignore questions and concerns.

I've taken two classes with Rhonda now and I love her. I really, really do. Definitely be prepared to read because her courses are always content-heavy, but the tests are a breeze if you've kept up with the material. Made a potentially boring class like Linguistics very informative and fun.

Very interesting class! It feels like all I did in this class however were quizzes and tests. However, if you thoroughly read through her lecture notes and the textbook, you will do good. Ask questions if you need to! Dr. Dubec is very helpful and will answer your questions and clarify!

For an 830 class- it was a class to look forward to. You have to like English and want to work to be on her good side. She was always helpful, resourceful and easy to contact. Fast paced and heavy workload but simple tests if you read the material. She made it interesting and fun. Id take a class of hers anyday.

Prof talked way to fast, writing notes is a nightmare. Found her very ignorant and uncaring. Very unclear in what she wanted. Because of her teaching styles and attitude, I had no interest in ever going to class as I did not look forward to struggling to follow along. Tends to belittle her students.

I've never felt so demeaned in my life then being in her classroom. She continually rants about how we are stupid, and incompetent because we don't know nothing about the Bible. She continually tells us that we pretty much suck at life, because our grammar is so horrible. She is just not a very nice lady. She knows her stuff though.

Oh, Rhonda. That woman is such a card! She was super enthusiastic and extremely witty. I really enjoyed all of her classes and tried not to miss any. She is a scrupulous marker, but she's willing to help you edit your stuff before submission. All in all, you will excel in English is you take her course. She really fuels the mind to think.

Comment:

She is very enthusiastic and can be quite loud, which makes grammar far more interesting. Willing to proof papers during office hours and after class. She likes to reiterate the fact that she has a PhD despite the way she ‘looks‘. This fact is said at least once per class. Other then that, great prof and would recommend.
