Comment:
Just make sure you show up to lectures. Dufresne goes chapter by chapter and will highlight the important content that will be reflected on the tests. He's definitely not super open to questions mid lecture, but if you email him or stick around after class he is happy to answer your questions. Make sure you study, but he's a fair marker

Saves you money on texts by offering a kit, expect a lot of reading. 3 tests 25%x2 50% final. Taking his 1100 class is a valuable asset because he draws on Plato's Republic a lot. Cannot miss lectures because he does not use power points, be ready to take notes. A true asset to Lakehead he has the ability to inspire you to change majors.

Tough, but fair. Loathes cheaters and punishes them accordingly. Attendance is mandatory, 3 tests (25%x2 50% Final exam), no assignments. All quibbles aside one of the best professors at Lakehead, if you are not a drone and are looking to expand your mind I highly recommend him.

Every once in a while, you come across a prof whose teaching style and knowledge of course material are so perfectly balanced that it makes you want to come to class. I strongly suggest that you take any class by Prof Dufresne because you will find that you are a better student and individual because of it. Best class of my University experience!!

A very intelligent man to say the least. He makes things that are so complicated in our readings seem very clear after going to his classes. He is a great guy to talk to outside of class, and has a realistic and down to earth outlook on life. If you want to pass, you have to attend the classes though! Lots of reading, but he asks fair questions.

The films were, for the most part, excellent. The readings are boring, but relatively easy to get through. Exams are also easy if you have a good understanding of the concepts. He's not that great at explaining these concepts though, so you might have to figure some stuff out on your own.
