I have taken almost all of Rich's classes. He makes it interesting and easy to learn. He writes his own textbooks every semester, and teaches directly out of it. His exams are multiple choice and almost word for word out of the book, and he gives you the pages to review. if you pay attention to his lecture and read you cant fail. Take him!

Extremely intelligent and wise man. He makes his own textbooks for every one of his classes, ranging from 600 to 850 pages. Don't let that scare you because you will not go through the whole book. Be prepared to study and read a lot. His exams are difficult. "A, B, C, only A and C, None of the Above" style. Boring lectures, but interesting as hell.

Has his own textbook, so basically gives him no boundaries when it comes to tests, textbook is not easy to follow, way too many complex words, uninteresting, somewhat flexible, not outgoing.

I thought he was a great professor. I joined the class 2 weeks in to the semester and picked it right up. He gives you the textbook for the class and I would suggest highlighting exactly what he puts up on his power point. Study what you've highlighted and you will pass. Has only 2 small homework assignments and 4 tests. Tests are multiple choice

Average lecturer. VERY opinionated, offensive to some. Does not use mic so sit up front if you want to hear. You are assigned a textbook from the University but you won't use it. He hands out a huge book that he put together himself. Attend class, read the book, highlight important info and you will be fine. If you have questions talk to him

Tests in this specific class are rather difficult. Make sure you study a good amount. Other than that, he is a great professor who gives an overload of examples to help you get the material down.

People always complain this class is so hard. I don't get why. One of the easiest classes I've taken. Highlight in your textbook important points. Study those points and you'll do fine. He teaches right from textbook. Don't wait till the night before if you are not interested in the topic or if it is not related to your major.

Dr. Waugh is a great professor, and if you reach out to him he's always helpful. He has an "old school" approach to teaching, but I like it. Typically he will cover a specific topic over a day, and though going to class is not mandatory, it certainly is helpful. Even though his classes are not "cakewalks", you learn a lot and can be edifying.

Very enthusiastic about class material, but extremely opinionated. Sometimes fails to provide both sides of an issue. Uses out-dated and rather off-putting terminology on occasion but other than that is very sensitive to students. Tests are hard, but if you read the material and study you should be fine.

Exremely interesting material and he can answer just about any question. Very knowlegable. Tests are tough. All multiple choice questions, most had multiple answers and they were very detailed. Loved the info but tests were very tricky even after hours of studying.

Professor Waugh is excellent when it comes to understanding people throughout the world. His Cultural Geography class is somewhat easy as long as you attend every class. Missing one day could be catastrophic to your test grade. Also, try to sit up front. He's interesting and you don't want to miss a thing, trust me. Rich is the man!

Interesting professor, good, but very opinionated. The only problem I had was that he took off points because I used the word "colored" to describe African Americans because it "went out of use in the 70's"?!? Otherwise good professor I recommend him unless you are an anti-environmentalist then you will hate him.

Exudes a passion for social responsibility, environmentalism, geography and basically understanding the world it's religions and your place in it all. Excellent lecturer. If you just listen you will learn tons and have plenty of intellectual jargon to last you a few decades.

Realy loves his cultural geography. Always simplifies everything into a way that everyone can understand. Very funny and always links every point to a funny joke or a part of his life. Uses powerpoint to present the notes. All you have to do is copy them and memorize the facts for the tests. An absolute joy to be in his class.

One of my favorite professors! Really interesting & funny lectures, most of what he says comes from the handout book he wrote that he gives out on the first day. Tests are fairly easy. As long as you come to class & listen to what he says, you'll get an A or a B for sure!

The class I had with him was Survey of Cultural Geography. He really knows his stuff, plus he actually wrote the primary textbook that is used. Tests are fairly easy if you study the handout book he gives. The lectures are usually interesting and he allowed a lot of discussion. Very good professor and interesting class.
