Extremely nice man who has a genuine interest in accounting and helping students learn. Really wants to make sure everyone understands the material. With that being said he is extremely unfocused, confusing, and not a good communicator of what is being taught. Just learn what he puts on the exam sheet from the book. Rambles like no other.

Comment:

Asebrook's class was one of the best accounting classes I have taken at UMass. He was very clear with what was going to be on the exams, pretty much similar to problems in class. Always very excited about the material and willing to help. Awesome professor, wish he could teach all my accounting classes. Class is mandatory to understand material.

I am an accounting major so taking this course was easy for me but if I had to rely on this professor to teach me accounting I would be in big trouble. He rambles on/off topic endlessly. His examples are clear as mud and is poorly organized. He does however care about students and is a really nice person but i would not want him a professor again.

Purchase the book and READ IT. He's a real great guy but not the best teacher. I went to every class and it wasn't very helpful. He barely goes over practice problems, and when he does he ends up getting lost in them and writing wrong numbers on the board which just confuses everyone. Then just rambles on about accounting theory. BOOK Essential.

First D I ever got in my life. I shouldn't of taken anyone's advice on this page. He decided not to grade homework. You ask him questions, he ask you back and never tell you the answer because he thinks you learn better reading yourself. Rarely teaches, mostly just over over assigned problems.

Rich Asebrook is a great teacher and a great person. He genuinely cares about his students. Accounting classes are difficult but Asebrook keeps classes interesting and fun. I 100% recommend taking Acct 321 or 322 with Rich.

Asebrook is one of my favorite teachers in the PMBA program. He keeps class fun and is just an overall good guy. He'll more than willing to work with you to make sure you understand everything. Class is straight forward and fair - do your homework for each class and you'll be fine. Gives a 3 takee home and in class exams and averages the scores.

Great Professor. You can tell he really loves teaching and helping out his students. Tries to make accounting not so boring. Likes to joke around and tell stories. Very down to earth. Exams can get pretty tough but he's very fair and flexible with the grading. Likes to throw chalk.

Kind & compassionate. Was really nice to student who came in that class about a year ago. That student only asked one question (he usually asks 7 or 8). I guess he felt embarrased. But the professor was nice regardless and I think he should be. I was happy that the student came to learn. Hope he did well when he took the class.
