She means well...not a hard grader at all...course material is interesting...just tell her what she wants to hear, honestly, becasue if you take a stand and develope an opinion of your own...one that goes against what she believes then you're in trouble.

Not as scary as she seems to want people to think she is. A fine teacher, an admirable person and a mine of information. If you are in sympathy with her views you will probably gain more than if not, but if you are more centrist or even (gasp!) conservative, you will still get a fine education in basic progressive issues. Do it.

She is very knowledgable. She keeps things interesting. She definitely cares about students, but sometimes I felt intimidated by her .. maybe because she is so intelligent and the way she holds herself. Somewhat of a hard grader, but it is worth it.
