Professor Bedient made me hate math. Calculus 1 should be very easy but unfortunately the class is catered towards students who have already taken calculus. He can only explain things one way. While he is a very sweet professor, lectures were terribly frustrating and hard to follow due to him making mistakes and constantly changing his work.

One of the best math instructors I've ever had. Explains and derives everything clearly rather than just shoving formulas down your throat. Also a great guy outside of the classroom.

Great professor! He is a really nice person and super passionate about Math. His explanations are great so you will be fine as long as you pay attention in class. He does give a lot of homework though and the tests can be tough.

Bedient was a really sweet professor and super passionate about math. The class was difficult and included vector calculus, which I didn't expect, but we were allowed to work with others for the homework. Homework assignments were due every class MWF but were never too long.

Comment:

Professor Bedient is one of the most articulate professors I've had - across any department. He will suit verbal learners well because he uses precise word choice and explains concepts thoroughly. Incredible in office hours. My only complaint is that he will occasionally race through material - make sure you stop him and he will explain.

Professor Bedient is fabulous! The material wasn't always clear, but he is so helpful during office hours and will sit with you for hours until you feel confident. And his sense of humor is so refreshing. I highly recommend him.

I'm not necessarily a math person, but Bedient is engaging and friendly inside the classroom and out. He's very fair and willing to assist you in any way he can. Probably one of the nicest professors you'll meet at Hamilton.

He is a nice guy and helped me out outside of the classroom when it came to continuing my math education. The material was difficult and sometimes I didn't understand his explanations during class. Office hours were great, he was always available and willing to explain. Nice guy, good teacher. But even as a good math student, sometimes I was lost.

I am not a big math guy, and calc I was a struggle for me. Without Prof. Bedient, I would not have made it. I went to his office hours 2-3 times a week, usually for at least 2 hours each time. He was understanding and very helpful; a great teacher. I got to know him pretty well, and he is one of the best people I have met at Hamilton.
