There is no point in going to the class since you only talk about the book, a yawner for sure. No midterms, no tests, just read 5 or 6 books and a end of semester midterm. Only have to do 2 essays out of the number of books you read. HARD ESSAY MARKER. Be warned.

The course is boring to sit through if you attend. He does not like adverbs,and prefers if you write in a boring manner. I would avoid taking a class with him, I'm sure there are younger more interesting profs to take english with. He is not an easy marker or a fair marker, because you have to set aside all you know about writing and cater to him.

A lot of reading required but doesn't give many assignments. He offers plenty of chances to get better marks if you're willing to work for it. He is really enthusiastic, but his classes unfortunately are rather boring.

Great enthusiasm in what he's teaching, as well as helpful. He gives you plenty of oppourtunities to make a good mark, and doesn't baby you while he's marking. Great Class, great prof.

Davies is one of the best profs ive had. He is a tough grader, but at the same time very fair. He is very approachable and will listen to your problems in the course. He marks your papers promptly and clealy states what he wants you to improve on your next one. He doesn't seem to mind when you miss his classes, which is great. :)

I found Davies to be rather open to others' interpretations, though what I learned in his class doesn't seem applicable to much else. He seems like a pretty decent marker. As far as getting help from him goes, I didn't find him to be overly helpful.

He is a seemingly nice enough man, but lacks any use as a department head. From helping you figure out your courses to hearing complaints about professors, you're better off going to the registrar or the dean of arts. Inflexible and doesn't seem to know his stuff, or be able to shift perspectives.

Taking a class with Davies means losing your own opinion and ways of analysis. I hope that anyone who takes a course with him can learn that you have to do things his way or you will suffer. This guy is closed-minded and couldn't help a fish find water.

Well organized prof, marks papers promptly and fairly. If you work for it, you can do very well in his courses. Structures course so you can maximize your mark - takes best 2 essay marks so you can do as many as you want. I like him

Although I think Dr. Davies has good intentions, he does not truly know how to listen to his students. Trying to communicate with him is like talking to a brick wall. He's a nice guy, but can't get see beyond his own opinions. Very closed-minded.

I think Davies is a fantastic professor. He constantly keeps track of your accomplishments in his class and other classes, and is sincerely concerned with your progress at this institution. Friendly and cheery, and though some argue this,an easy marker.
