This man is here to only teach. He expects you to be there to learn. He has a ton to teach you and expects a lot. If you only are in college to check boxes and slide out with a slip of paper, you WILL hate him. If you want to learn, prepare to work your ass off, but he will put in twice the effort you do. Literally the best prof I've ever had.

well, I had Richard in Fall of 91 and Spring of 92 ... I thought he was a great professor ... apparently he has gotten pretty strict with homework, etc - but he was a great prof back in the day!

Eykholt moves fast, pushes hard, and his homework will dominate your entire life. He has extremely high expectations of his students, but will go well out of his way to help you meet those expectations.

Really nice guy. However, having said that - he's a terrible 100 level professor. If I were a physics major I would absolutely love this guy's class. However, for the majority, his class is terrible. His teaching style reflects how easy this material is for HIM. Students are expected to teach themselves out of the book. Some of us need instruction.

For physics majors, Dr. Eykholt is an excellent teacher. He's always willing to help you and he explains physics very well.

Lemon professor. Do not take him. His lectures are pathetic. He will skip steps and not even bother to cover fundamental steps used to solve problems. He might know physics but he does not know how to teach it. He should not be teaching this class and makes CSU look bad.

Ok... it's a tough class (ph142)...and he expects a lot... but if you're an EE you have to know it anyway... better to learn it from someone who can teach it effectively... really helpfull in the long run

The Prof would be a real good research prof but not teaching a 100 level class. His exams and what he expects from students that are not physics majors is beyond realistic. Avoid his classes. He is a nice guy other then his views of reality and students passing his class.

This is physics for non-majors, but you wouldn't know it with Eykholt. Stay away from this prof.

He's just no realistic, that's all. Those guys who already took differential equations and don't mind studying till 4 in the morning will do alright, but for the rest of humanity its no fun. I strongly suggest another professor, ANY other professor will do.

There is a burning in his heart that wishes to cleanse all the world of the week minded through the fires of hard labour and daunting tasks. Even with calc 3 I still didn't know alot of the math he expected us to know. If only I had a doctorate in physics, then I could understand his deep and mysterious ways. But that may not even help...

I had nighmares of sitting on a cold cement floor doing physics problems while he danced around me in a cheep devil suit. Too make it worse, he'll stay with you until past midnight to figure stuff out, kinda like adding insult to injury almost. Very Demanding... VERY DEMANDING.
