This dude is weird, but it's entertaining. 3 allowed absences, 2 three page papers on required plays to see, one 30q fill in the blank/short answer midterm (no word bank) which wasn't easy, and one open note final. The class itself is a joke - it's just him telling stories the whole time, but with so few grades it can end up difficult to get an A.

Fink is a wild guy and gets off topic easily by telling crazy stories. He is face-blind so he will never recognize you. Very particular about attendance, but the class is easy and entertaining. Offers extra credit, but be ready to spend some cash to see the shows to get it! Very few grades and an open-note final. Beware the midterm!!!

Dr. F was very rude and his lectures were all over the place. You have to attend 3 plays which he says outweighs the cost of not having to have a textbook but it's annoying and you write papers on them. I would not take his class again. You can only miss 3 classes, too.

One of the easiest classes I have ever taken. Few small easy reading quizzes, midterm, and open note final. You have to go see 3 plays and write papers on them . Also have to do a group project that he gives you all semester to do. No monologues. You must study for the midterm to do well, but duhhh. Take good notes & you're golden.

I don't understand the negative feedback! Finkelstein literally knows everything there is about everything. Great professor who keeps me excited to go to class. Classic theatre teacher, funky, keeps the class laughing, shows funny videos, tells great stories. Highly recommend this class, though the midterm is difficult. Final is open notes.

Knows what he's talking about, but gets monotone and confusing. I really liked this rotation, though. I had it directly after management, though, and anything is interesting after that. Need the handouts, so if you miss a class, get it from someone else. Take good notes. STRIKE WEIGHTS FIRST, THEN STUFF ON BATTEN, remember that.

I don't understand all the bad ratings.. I mean the class can get really boring but he's nice and it's so easy. 2 plays to see, 2 easy to bs papers on them, open note final and he'll literally tell you most of whats on the midterm if you just ask what to study. Doesn't even require a text book

Without a doubt the worst professor I've ever had. This GenEd cluster is suppose to be an easy A, but he makes this class a GPA killer. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I'm a bright kid, majoring in arguably the hardest major at JMU and am currently struggling for a B-. His class simply consists of him ranting about what he think is important. Don't take!

This guy is insane. His class is alright. His midterm is hard but the final is open notes. I hated this class at first but it grew on me. It's very easy to skip his class. It can be a fairly easy A if you put in some effort.

So strange. He's super creepy and very weird. I was looking forward to this class so much but got quickly annoyed with it. If you're looking for an easy A GenEd, look elsewhere. If you put the time in you can certainly get an A, but in my opinion, his standards are ridiculous for a bunch of non-theatre majors.

Funny guy but incredibly liberal and always seems to find a way to bring up politics n bash conservatism. If you get past that he really knows his stuff for theatre and seems to have been a part of every show on Broadway. Class is kind of ridiculous for a GenED and wants everyone to become a theatre major. Overall hes Creepy, funny, yet charming

He's fun, and def worth coming to class just to see what he will do next...he's an easy teacher, just make sure that you read the book so that you can pass his little quizzes...he makes you go to a lot of plays, and write papers on them, but they're easy...def recommend him!

Read to pass his quizzes. Papers on performances are easy as pie; make sure they are the required length and just BS and sound coherent. Knows a lot of Theatre. A little quirky and weird but in a good way. DON"T LEAVE PORTFOLIO UNTIL LAST MINUTE. It was due the day of exam and I was up all night doing it and had no sleep.

RF was an interesting character, he is very much what you expect a theater professor to be like. He is corky and rambles and excited about theatre. He is good stories and pictures from his work, but content is hard. He quizzes and tests you on very random material. Go to plays and get extra credit, although he may not count it in the end. weird

This class was a waste of time. I learned nothing in it. He gives lectures that are pointless because he doesnt finish them all the way and never goes back to finish them in the next class. You have to make a portfolio at the end of the semester with EVERYTHING you ever got (handouts, notes, etc) class was boring.. never wanted to go&didnt need to.

WHACK JOB. weird, quarky, person, horrible communication and personal skills. Talks alot about his plays that he has done and his almost "fame", he means well, but gets annoyed easily. Class was pointless i didnt learn a thing, the book is ****ing stupid. the test are fill in the blank, (we arent in 3rd grade), never grades, unorganized, immature
