Rich is a solid teacher for computer graphics. He is obsessed with horror shows and super heros which honestly gets old at times, but if you show up and do each project, you get an A.. really easy class with good lectures.

AMAZING. I had the option of squeezing in this class somewhere in the middle of my schedule or taking it at 7-9:30 class at night, and I only chose the latter option because of Rich. Honestly, most nights we don't even stay past 8:30. He has a GREAT habit of critiquing your work himself instead of doing those godawful group critiques. Recommended!

Rich is absolutely the best teacher ever. He is SUPER talented,HILARIOUS beyond any doubt, and a very helpful man. Class literally flies by in a blink of an eye, & he teaches you lessons for the real world. If more teachers were like him, life would be a blast! Rich is a wonderful human being and a fabulous graphoic designer but he is so advanced that he has forgotten what it is like to be a beginner. If you are a true beginner take someone else or you will be lost the whole semester. Once you are internediate level then take Rich because he is a great guy and a wonderful teacher.

Rich is amazing. He's helpful, funny, and he really loves what he does. Sometimes he seems more interested in being your friend than teaching, but he has great ideas and is always willing to help. He's very nerdy and a lot of the class is watching movies and talking about Star Wars, so it helps if you're self-motivated because deadlines are a joke.

This is one of my favorite professors. He tells the crazy stories, and is in love with Batman. He inspired and encouraged me to do some great work and while some projects can be a little challenging, it's all to make you a better designer in the end. 4 major projects and he's willing to help you a lot along the way. From the perspective of an Illustration student: Rich is the reason I stayed at JMU instead of splitting for SCAD. He is a wealth of stories, experience, and knowledge. In the numerous classes I've had with him, I've learned so much about illustration and the importance of “passion” in what we as artists do. His lessons will be with me for life.
