Comment:

Dr. Johnson was by far my favorite teacher at the Univ. He is extremely intelligent and misunderstood. He has a great sense of humor if you take the time to understand his jokes completely. If it weren't for his going the extra mile to help, I would have probably not made it through my degree. Is an amazing conductor and scholar.

On of the smartest men I ever met. One of the worst teachers I ever had. Has vast knowledge, but no ability to effectively communicate it. Will talk over your head, and then treat you like a moron if you can't follow. VERY moody. Gotta give him credit, though. Best conductor I EVER played for, bar none. Maniacal genius.

I don't know why people give him such a bad rating - his was one of the best classes I took. All you have to do for tests is memorize material that he gives you - it's only memorizing. Not too bad. As far as essays go, he gives you a million chances to get an A on them. My advice is take the class; it's worth it.

He is such an ass. He tell you to use only the book on papers, then he tell you the information in the book is only opinion. He is the biggest jerk ever. He feels like he is higher then everyone because he knows music. Well no one cares, most people were required to take his class. No one likes him!!!!

Super easy class. Not at all hard to get 100% on exams as long as you study. Gives 2 papers, and if you don't like your grade on them you can make corrections and turn it back in for a better grade. Lectures are really boring, but he's a really nice guy and knows the material isn't very interesting, makes it managable. I recommend his class- easy A

Dr. Johnson rocks my socks! He is the best conductor in ever and so freaking smart. Man, he prepares for lessons so well. The only other music teacher that preps for classes are dr tabor and dr folger. Too bad he isn't the band director anymore *HMPH!*

An amazing teacher and person. The only way you can do bad or have him not like you is not try your very best and not come in for help when needed. He is the best conductor I have ever worked with and I haved worked w/hundreds. Amazing WindLit knowledge!
