He has a lot of experience, which is good. You get to spend a lot of time doing hands-on things in a real TV studio, which is pretty cool. Just make sure you understand the assignment completely and ask for help when you need it or you might not get the best grades on your assignments.

Professor Schaefer is a dynamic and passionate instructor. I was not sure about the class since my major is in another college BUT he is an expert in his field, demands the highest level of student engagement, is entertaining, and made me want to change my goals in life.

The fact that I had to chug a beer at 8 a.m. before this class says something. Super unorganized and very high expectations. Tons of homework. Not a fun class unless you actually want to be a journalist. Strat Com students shouldn't have to take this class.

All I have to say is he definitely knows what he's talking about. I love him as a teacher I feel like I'm actually learning journalism! Not an easy class but why would I want an easy class where I won't learn what I need to know for my major?

The tests are hard, the assignments are hard. Schaefer tries to make it better but the class itself is difficult. The class is very time consuming as you will have to do all assignments on your own time but you learn alot.

In 171, nobody likes him, that's the point. But if you make it to 364, his class is a hugely rewarding university experience. You're in class with him for two straight semesters, and when it's over, you actually grieve instead of celebrate.. He's your friend, but you never forget that he's your professor, and impressing him is everybody's goal.
