Would recommend him for any math major. Explains theory very well, and he cares about his students passing. Curved the tests so that people would be able to get credit for the class. Quizzes are based on HW problems, and tests were not far off from those. You do have to study a lot, but that's with all upper level math classes. Also, a funny guy.

Yo'av was a poor teacher; terrible class weighting of tests, homework, and attendance was mandatory. There were two tests, each worth 20% of the grade, and the final was 30% of the grade. Did not offer any review before the exams. Very vague with examples worked in class; left much to question on the homework. Avoid, there are better professors.

Yo'av is a great teacher and awesome person! Going to his office hours is HIGHLY recommended. I actually decided to be a math major after his course. He's funny and witty and helpful if you ask for help during office hours. Do your homework.

I would highly suggest not taking this class with Yo'av. Out of all my college classes, I have never had a teacher that has been as vague as he was. No indication as to what is going to be on tests, and is one of those teachers that speaks down to you when you ask him questions. Not helpful in office hours.

I read all of the reviews on here and thought this would be a good class to take. Yoav is not clear about his lectures or tests. He doesn't use the textbook to work problems, just to assign homework. He does not hand homework back out before the tests. He will help during office hours but not much.

Yo'av is an amazing teacher. He will help any student who needs it and I highly recommend his classes. He is a teacher that wants every student to get an A, you just have to give it your best shot.

If you go to class everyday, his class is extremely easy. He is sometimes hard to follow at the start of lectures, but if you stay with him, the concepts will make sense by the end of class.

Not bad at all; I'd recommend him. Offers plenty of chances to make up for lost points, both on quizzes and on tests. Be prepared to study quite a bit, though, especially the homeworks that he assigns. The key to surviving in this class is: DON'T FALL BEHIND.

hez great- knows his stuff.. i learnt so much, and he cleared my concepts in graphs and topology a whole lot.. gives a very qualitative feel for 3D calculus. great for topology too!!
