Comment:

Rita genuinely cares about her students. She is sweet, patient, and easy to talk to. I enjoyed all of the books we studied in her course. I truly feel that with her help and visiting her during office hours, I grew as a writer. I totally recommend her course Truth, Lies and Storytelling. The assignments are all fair and she will help if you ask!

Rita is a great prof. Very thoughtful and SO sweet!! Her disposition makes her comes across as an easy marker but she challenges you in order to get good grades! Her classes are a ton of fun and she is readily available outside of class for help and feedback

She is very knowledgeable about material, and provides clear information in lectures. The books we read were of a fairly wide variety. She was very understanding of extenuating circumstances and gave students options to remain successful. The most enjoyable aspect of her class was her kindness and gentle tone which made the material more pleasant.

My favourite professor! I try to work any classes she teaches into my schedule. She is very passionate about English Literature, and loves delving into close reading of the material. For students interested in learning she really helps develop analytical and writing skills. She also loves class discussion which is a great way to learn. Fair grader.

Rita Bode is by far one of my favourite professors at Trent and I move my schedule around so I can take her classes. She offers challenging, insightful, and engaging material! She is a firm marker but always available during office hours or after class for essay or assignment consultation.

Rita wasn't my favourite professor. The work wasn't too hard or too much, but things could have been explained better. Many students had the feeling that it was "her way or the highway"- she didn't like different opinions on a subject. If you don't do well on the assignments you have to do SUPERB on the exam (which can be quite difficult).

A wonderful woman and great professor! She always has fantastic book choices and really interesting lectures to follow. I never had any difficulties with her grading, it always seemed very fair and she provided lots of feedback. I will take anything she teaches!

Rita is an amazing person and a great prof. She was fun and really kind as we worked through the content of the novels that we read. She definitely has a love for Latina/Latino Literature. My only regret is that I would've loved to get more into the culture through her course.

Rita is a lovely lady, I like her a lot. I dislike English but I'm awesome at writing essays. She is helpful, thorough with explaining book plots and characters. I honestly haven't read one book so far in her class, I've just studied off of her lectures. The only thing I hate is how early in the morning the class is cuz I fall asleep unfortunately.
