Worst prof I've had. Gave our entire class trouble for our essays 'not being vague enough' ...told us we'd lose marks if we said anything directly. Doesn't accept other views. Refuses to meet outside of class. Wish I'd taken the negative posts here more seriously and not taken the class.

very good prof and interesting lectures. the first half of the course i kept up and read the text before class and it really helped but it is not required. he takes your best 3 out of 4 tests throughout the year and the final is from the 4th test on. also very easy to get a high grade.

Amazing prof. Don't take the class if your not willing to support your own opinions. He doesn't teach you a lot- but makes you think about the issues that he brings up. Class discussions are great! He is not for everyone, the test is based on your opinion of things we have covered in class- if you can back them up you will do fine. DO THE READING

Funny, engaging prof. Lectures are good if you have read the text and actually are aware of what is happening in the class. Quite helpful guy with notes posted on PAWS after the lecture. Only 4 tests in my class, nothing else. Recommended!

Best Prof I've ever had, he challenges what you think and gets feed back before making notes. The information we learn is what we decide on as a class, not whats in the text Everything is super easy. He makes things so everyone understands it but you don't feel like an idiot. The discussions we've had have aided in learning the content. Great prof!

He is kinda over the top and over emphasizes the little things. Notes are basic and not very clear and always a jig jog of information. Class discussions lead to things that have absolutely NOTHING to do with the topic. He is laid back and easy going and always willing to help students if they need that extra help.

Good for some, hard for others. Class discussion is the main component of his class, which can be a blessing or a curse. In a way, I learned more from him than any other professor because I was forced to defend my views without the professor's help.

I didn't learn a thing in this class. Paid $450 to listen to gibberish for 4 months. MY classmates could have taught better than the prof. No thoery, no background, all opinion...What a rip.

Doesn't teach "what do YOU think about that", if you take a class to learn about that subject, don't take his class, only take the class if you're an expert in the area, and classes are geared for non-phil. students.

this guy was brutal. his description of utilitarianism was horrible. i'm pretty sure i could have taught the class better myself. i came out knowing nothing more about philosophy than i knew coming in, but at least i got credit.

Very friendly and helpful. Makes you think about what you're doing. For my class he's having out of class sessions for people not doing as well as they would like. I think that's pretty good of him. Works through many examples of what will be on the test.

Likely the worst kept secret in the department. Grad students loathe him, regular students avoid him, and he appears to hate himself.
