Professor Barnet is kind and the class really isn't all the difficult. Take good notes during lecture and the tests will be fine. It's kind of a boring class but the material is really cool.

Prof. Barnet is very passionate about the material and wants to help his students. The tests are easy, but only if you know the material from the lectures well and that can be very hard if you don't go to class. The powerpoints are almost impossible to understand if you don't take extra notes. A lot of extra credit available and he's a nice guy.

Hes overall very nice and hes helpful but he squeezes so much material into one exam you only have 1 hour 20 min to complete. He can be very picky about grading too for silly reasoning like if you exceed the lines in the writing portion hell deduct half the points or more. There is extra credit though bc he only grades you on 3 exams.

Barnet is a really good lecturer. He gives great examples and takes the time to answer all questions. His voice can be a little monotone and dry but it is really worth paying attention. I think his tests are very fair. He has clear expectations for the class and gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit. If you do what you should, you'll get A

Tests are incredibly straight-forward and it's easy to get an A if you study. However, tests combine to be worth 93% of the final grade, and he doesn't allow you to drop any so don't screw up. Lectures are interesting enough, examples he gives are easy to understand, very open and eager to answer questions. Offers some extra credit for attendance.

I think he is very passionate about the material & you can see it through his lectures. Beware the many abbreviations in his PPTs though since you're screwed if you don't remember what they stand for. Had to study a lot for the exams & made a study group which helped. His voice is kind of sleep-inducing, so it's hard to stay awake, but I liked him.

Dr. Barnet obviously knew a lot about the course material and did a decent job at explaining it. Definitely read the book to back up the lecture powerpoints. 93% of the grade came from his MC exams, which tended to be fair and not too difficult/detailed compared to other neuro classes. I would definitely recommend him!

Well Barnet is just boring. And a little sexist in that older man, doesn't realize his jokes aren't funny kinda way? But otherwise he's nice enough. You do either have to pay attention in class or read the text book. Test expectations are clear and he gives loads of extra credit that is applicable to tests. An easy A, just don't plan to be inspired

Prof Barnet's class is pretty lecture heavy, but he kept my attention for the most part. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! It help a lot with exams and, if you do all of it, you get a 5% grade bump. He can be a bit of a harsh grader and his tests tend to be fairly detailed (lots of free response).

Comment:
Wasn't really a fan of Barnet. He was a pretty dry lecturer and his powerpoints were very disorganized and hard to understand outside of class. Overall, not a very personable professor but the class itself wasn't terribly hard. You do have to put in the work to get an A though--not an easy A.

He is very clear about what he wants you to specifically write on the test. He gives so many extra credit opportunities and you really should do all of them. They will help you do better on tests. Lectures were sometimes a little dry and he seems a bit condescending at first. I would recommend this class because an A is easy if you put in effort.

Barnet is the man. A lot of people give him a hard time for being a tough grader, but in all honesty, if you read the textbook and study his lecture notes, you will do fine. This is not a class for slackers, but then again, it is not extremely difficult. Memorization is key. He is also EXTREMELY willing to answer questions outside of class.

Dr. Barnet is a great professor for Foundations of Learning & Memory. I found it much more interesting than Physio Psych. His lectures are always interesting and he always emphasizes the main points. Do his test reviews and some of the extra credit assignments and you should get an A!

He's a really boring lecturer but you have to go to every class or you have to read the textbook and study his powerpoint very carefully. His tests are fair enough but they are very detail-oriented. He only has 2 tests and a final but gives a little extra credit for coming to class. He wasn't unbearable but I wouldn't take his class again.

Professor Barnet was great and his class was really interesting. He really makes an effort to answer questions well. There were only two tests and a final. I loved the material and even when I thought I knew it all, I had mid Bs both tests. The final is a bit easier though. Definitely come to class and do the extra readings.

Prof Barnet is great! He keeps you engaged and interested in the subject. I enjoyed class, but did NOT do well on the exams. He is really helpful if you go for help individually. If you aren't good at the sciency side of Psych, you might want to take caution before registering for this class, though.

Comment:
Learning and Memory with Professor Barnet was slightly more difficult than Phys Psych because the tests are mostly short answer, rather than multiple choice. However, in my opinion, the information was way more interesting. Barnet teaches well, in his own quirky manner, and powerpoints are posted to blackboard. All in all a great class!

Professor Barnet is a great instructor. He is very knowledgeable about the subject and interactive with the class. His tests are all multiple choice and easy if you study the powerpoints, as pretty much all the information on them comes from those. I also enjoyed his small quirks, such as funny images on the slides or saying, "What is up my peeps?"

Professor Barnet seems like a great guy, however his tests are EXTREMELY detailed...almost to the point where it's ridiculous. Make sure to read the chapters in the book along with going over the powerpoints while studying for the test. Pay attention to every single detail because more than likely it will be on the test!
