Robert is a great prof and got me really passionate about History. He was a tough teacher which made me want to work that much harder for my grade. Having him as a History teacher was a good way to start my undergrad.

This guy treats his students like they're children. He should get a PDP and go teach at highschool rather than play his ridiculous power games in a university level course.

If you want an A you have to really earn it or you're brilliant! He marks hard (you have to be very very specific). There is so much reading. Other than that, the class was interesting. Robert is a nice person.

Robert is extremely interesting and well organized. However, unless you are brilliant, I doubt an A is achievable-the highest mark on the midterm was 85. His class is a LOT of work-TONS of readings (some u actually have to do), 4 article reviews (take hours), a midterm paper, and a final. He's worth taking, but be prepared for the workload.

Well, he should know his stuff! He can lecture too, but those virtues are not enough to make up for the mean streak. He's an unfair marker and has an obvious distaste for mature students. I was relieved when the class ended.

Definitly one of the best profs I have ever had!!! I enjoyed his class so much that I took 2 more classes with him. Who would think Canadian history could be so interesting? Be prepared to work hard in this class because A's don't come easy. You will learn SO MUCH from this teacher, and it is worth the sacrafice for the lower grade!

He's a really entertaining teacher with a sense of humour. That being said however, he tends to take the traditional view on marking and won't give an A unless it's really fabulous work that's demonstrated a "higher engagement with the material".

Robert is very passionate about teaching which helps make his lectures interesting (even if you are not interested in history). He definitely would be well suited for teaching high school. He gives out stickers, likes group work, and enjoys educational videos. His grades are always between 65% and 79%. If you want an A then don't take his class.

Definitely has his favorites, does attendance every class, makes you split into groups at the end of every class to comment on a video you just watched so that he can give you a check, a check +, or a sticker. If you enjoyed high school and being treated like a child, take this class.

Great teacher, funny, passionate, makes Canadian history interesting. He gave me a couple extra days on an article review without me even having to ask him. Some group work and plenty of reading. A bit of a tough marker. The midterm was a take-home essay instead of an exam, but be careful, it's harder than it seems!

Okay folks. I find him an arrogant snob who plays favourites. He finds himself totally amusing. He has us confused for a high school class as he's constantly trying to assert his authority. I'll give him a 10 for annoying. Watch out! Unless you prefer your noses brown.

The dude knows his stuff, but he is a control freak who treats students like children. He should be teaching high school, where it's more typical to demand respect than earn it!

Robert is clear, passionate, funny, and charming. He can come off as difficult at times, but he is genuinely interested in what he's teaching and expects a lot from his students. It's almost impossible to get an A, but assigments and tests are reasonable. The class is very well-organized. Plus, like his nerdy, aloof cuteness.

Awesome instructor!! He makes history fun, but it's also a lot of hard work. You need to read everything, and do article reviews, which can be challenging. No midterm exam, but there's a take-home midterm essay. You'll learn a lot and actually remember stuff after the class ends.
