I have found this class to be one of the most beneficial in the MBA. Multiple chapters to read, homework, and discussions every week. Lots of work but worth it to learn Excel and VBA for today's workforce. This professor is one of my favorites. Always responds to emails, is always available, and really cares about students.

Comment:

Prof. Cerveny is a class act. The guy puts so much effort towards you understanding everything. There are lots of notes but he makes lectures interesting by giving extra credit and telling all of his amazing stories! I cannot recommend this class highly enough. Do not buy the textbook.

He is very helpful. I didn't watch any of the lectures. If you are able to go to his office, do so because he will help you. He drops the lowest grade. Do the trainings, they are easy 100s. I didn't use any of the books at all.. If you think you can pass w/o the book, go for it! By the way it is a computer class. Should be an easy A!

The class is fairly easy, but he's extremely difficult to listen to. Constantly stumbling over his words and the majority of his lecture is him saying "um" or "uh" repeatedly. If you're someone who actually watches lectures, I wouldn't recommend him at all. Very frustrating

Four quizzes drops lowest quiz grade. I-clicker question were just for attendance. Labs were all excel projects but very easy. You can Google the test questions and use the book because the tests are online. But do not take a test without studying just a little bit. It was a little interesting.

Very knowledgeable, know computers pretty well. iClicker questions were not graded, lectures were often long and boring. Book is expensive but important, some questions on test are from it. Google during the test, might work a lil. He does curve, so excpect higher grades. Does help if you attend office hours. Labs are Excel mostly, and pretty easy.

Class is pretty easy, does iClicker. Lecture exams are easy, you don't have to study. You can find almost all the answers online. Lab is really easy but the projects take some time to finish. His lectures are boring but the videos he shows are pretty interesting and there will be some questions on the exams from the videos.

Very boring lectures. Lecture exams can be easy IF you prepare, although most answers can be found online. The videos he shows in class are interesting. Lab is easy but time consuming, do well on the projects and you should have a good grade in the class.

He's very boring. I barely went to class, but I did decent on his Lecture Exams. He drops the lowest test score which is cool. the lab is like elementary work! Very basic & easy! You will get a good grade!

easy class but u never know what is going on! we watch videos in class and have guest speakers all the time but everything is so irrelevant to eachother. just stick with reading the book before each exam and dont even bother with class

not a hard class at all. all homework is graded on if you do it, not if you do well. basically a big participation grade for an easy class. cerveny is MUCH better than skolnik, as i did take this class with both of them. textbook is irrelevant, but you can use the lab books in class on excel tests.

Okay professor. His lectures don't help much. There are 4 tests online, he takes your best 3 scores. I recommend getting the book and outlining it before each test. The tests aren't hard at all but don't underestimate them. The lab also helps your grade out a lot too if you do well. The labs are just excel projects and heintz was a good TA for lab.
